Comments

  • Code used to denote differences in region, batch, date / when it was manufactured, and possibly which factory it came out from.

  • The P or N (or E or B or J) appears to show which market the drive is supposed to be sold in. Other than the length of the warranty, there doesn't seem to be any difference.

  • So same drive just different codes for different places ie country?

    • Yes.

  • Or is one older than another model?

    • No.

  • And what is older the p or n as store i got from maybe selling an older model?

    • The drives are physically all exactly the same. None are inherently older. The letter just indicates where the drive is supposed to be sold. According to the WD web site, some areas have a one year warranty, some have two years, and some have three years.

Do a google search on both part numbers together.
