I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, I'm saying that I think Coles is being a bit dodgy.
I can confirm the same from my local store , Coles being dodgy
The other brand that resided in the biscuit section was deleted prior to these coming in.
I know peppernut is The direct translation to English - but its actually a gingerbread biscuit isn't it?
"Peppernuts", plural actually.
But yes, glazed gingerbread, sometimes with anise, but I doubt these will be.
Generally very crunchy.
If these didn't have gelatin in them, I'd buy some. Lambertz is a pretty good brand.
I picked up quite a few packets last Friday when I saw them going for $1. The packaging has changed (it used to be larger and red/clear) and I think the distributor has also changed which may well account for the $1 "introductory" price to get some runs on the board.
Also, these are hardly seasonal… they are sold (and enjoyed) all year round.
Now if only we could get Bokkepootjes discounted.
Aldi ones taste a ton better, are made in Germany, and are $1.49 all year round
99c at Aldi all season this year I think.
taste is not great.. too sweet
None left at my local Coles. I thought I was going crazy! Couldn't find them in biscuit aisle or in Christmas section. Going to try another Coles another day. I love these and want to share that love with others as a small Christmas gift.
I don't think that they ever were $2.50.
At my Coles, this is the "introductory price" going up to $2.50 from the 6th of January, only that these are seasonal and I doubt they'll be sold in January…
