hi, we just got a new xbox which came with a free trial for 14days for Xbox live gold.
We made an account on the Xbox and then I went to 'use a code' and got the code scanned via the Kinect.
But I cant see anywhere how to access Xbox live? It doesn't seem to notice that I have a 14day free trial, as it just asks if I want to buy gold membership. If I try to scan the code again, it says code is already used.
Does anyone know what is wrong and how i can fix this issue?

You should be able to click the box and go to the games with gold section and D/L a free game this month (maybe) if there are no restrictions to the 14 day trial
I never tried the 14 day just went straight to 1 year from cdkeys the other week when it was on sale. Around $40

14 day codes only enable you to use xbox live for certain things, but they wont show as having "gold" in your account.
You should still be able to access online content though, but you will always be prompted to upgrade to gold membership.
The card may stipulate a specific game(s) that it can be used for.
Have you tried launching a game and playing online?

Also to add - 14 day trials will only work with new accounts - not if youve had xbox live before.
(Though Ive heard you can contact them and get a free month of gold if this is the case)
