KitchenAid Mixer $585 @DJ's (Select Colours) + Ice Cream Maker - with Ent Book/Others 10% off Gift Card ($565 after Price Match)

540

Recently purchased a Kitchenaid mixer Artisan KSM160 for $585 Pistachio colour (Non sale price I bought it for..). So now, I wanted to share with you the formula i used to ozbargain the Kitchenaid Mixer Artisan (Various colours).

David Jones currently have selected colours for sale at $659. This is for the ARTISAN KSM150/160 series.
Peters of Kensington have selected colours for sale at $639 WITHOUT the bonus ICE CREAM attachment
http://www.petersofkensington.com.au/Public/KitchenAid-Artis…

or

$689 WITH the ice cream attachment.

Here is the formula:

1) Purchase $650 worth of DavidJones gift card at 10% off for $585 using Entertainment book. Denominations would be 1x $250 & 4x $100.
2) Log on to CASHREWARDS and Purchase a Kitchenaid Mixer from David Jones online using the gift cards. CASHREWARDS comes with 6% cash back of $659 giving you $39.54 back. Effectively, you have now purchased the Kitchenaid mixer from DJ for $554.46. I chose the 'CLick and Collect' method in Canberra DJs.
3) Upon picking up your item from DJ's, flash your phone with the Peters of Kensington price WITHOUT the bonus gift.
4) The staff only verified the store name, price and colour to price match.
5) Price difference = $659 (DJ) - $639 (Peters) = $20. Because you paid by gift cards, they will refund you $20 DJs gift card with a 2 year validity.
6) The final price = $534.46.

This discount only works if you have Entertainment book and Cashrewards account.

Hope this is useful for some!

Mod: Edited price in title to show price before any cashback or price match is applied.

    I am impressed!

  • Oh, to make it even better i think i have DJ cards bought with AMEX offers ($200 gift card with $40 back). Who can do the maths here, say i got enough gift cards from the AMEX offer?

    • Just take $65 off OP's suggested price. :) ($469.46, assuming OP's math is correct)

En, that sounds good. Thank you. But after having seen (and missed) the recent Breville Mixer deal from JB, i am not sure i want to spend this money on a mixer.

Let us know if you got the cashback because on cashreward's DJ page:
"Rewards will not be paid on any purchase when a Gift Card/s is used as full or part payment of a purchase."

Has anybody received money back from cash rewards yet? I have a few transactions and they are still all "pending" how long will the rewards be pending for!

i have, ~$100 over a period of time.

  • Peters of Kensington is a NSW only store? would they honor the price match if I did it in VIc?

    • it's an online store.

      • yeah i failed to lie when i went in for a price match >_>

  • If your a NIB member you can get 10% off DJ gift cards https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/214333 (deal not expired, mods keep expiring it for some reason)

    • From deal submission page:

If the expiry date is not specified, our system will automatically expire the deal after 45 days (90 days for freebies).

The deal is automatically expiring. I've fixed that up now and set it as long expiry so it won't auto expire (just hit report if you need that done in the future)

      Thanks

      • Ok cheers, reason I thought mods where expiring it because a few weeks ago it was expired so I removed the expiry then it expired again, I get it now..

  • Good work OP. True ozbargainer.

  • +1 for the effort mate.

  • AGL Rewards members can also purchase David Jones egift cards at 10% off.

    Impressed: yes
    Can be stuffed: no

  • I have previously done something similar. Purchased Wish gift card with entertainment book and made an online purchase at Masters using cashrewards web site. I got paid. It is available in my cashrewards account to transfer to my bank account.

As for the, I can confirm that I have the DJ's transaction in 'Pending' on my account status. Purchase was made recently so will need to wait a bit for confirmation.

I already used my Amex deal with $40 cash back so was not eligible for the extra discount!

  • Neilgero :

I am In Canberra and was able to Price match it. I purchased mine at the David Jones Canberra City centre.

They checked the model number, colour and asked if Peters is a physical store or not. I answered 'Yes' and she made a phone call to confirm with her manager for a price match. Whole process took about 3 minutes to match the price.

    • FYI you just need to press the reply button under someone's comment to reply directly to them (for future reference).

    • gah dammit! i said 'No, theyre an online retailer' Price match: REJECTED :( damn my honesty!!

Try coupon TELSTRA15 on the kitchen aid website also for 25% off :)

    • Good on you. The code works. Not buying as I have bought the Kenwood Chef XL Sense for $623 from eBay/Good Guys deal a few months ago.

  • I m naive, but is it really useful to buy? A similar mixer is coming this Saturday in Aldi fot $100

It's the iPhone of kitchen mixers. You buy one, leave it on display on the kitchen bench, and sing I'm so fancy every time you strut past it.

      • that's my thinking as well,,, will be a $600 display item…

    • Aldi is not a bad mixer. 3yr warranty too.

      • only issue with the Aldi Mixer, for each 5 mins operation, wait for 15 mins before using again…:(

        • Is this an exaggeration or literal?

    • +1

My old housemates had a $100 mixer from Kmart. When you turned it on full speed you could literally smell the plastic in the engine burning. Meanwhile my mum has an expensive mixer that she got as a 21st birthday present. She is now 62 and that mixer is still going and has made literally thousands of cakes/cookies/breads/puddings. You get what you pay for.

OP, has DJ's sold out of the KSM160 at that price? I can only find the KSM150 listed for $659. Does the KSM150 and KSM160 just differ by a Stainless Steel Bowl?

    • KSM150 and KSM160 are the same. Only differences I believe are the bowls that come with it and colour.

      • -1

If that is the case, can you confirm you bought the KSM150, not KSM160 as mentioned?

  • How is KitchenAid compare with Kenwood?

  • Good price.

I laughed when I saw COTD selling refurbs for $550-570. Frequently see places like Your Home Depot selling them for under $600.

  • Looks like everywhere is out of stock :(

    • $657 delivered for the KSM160 is still ok.
