Fujitsu or Mitsubishi Air Conditioner Supply/Install in Melb?

Any suggestions where to get a good deal on supply and install of a 8kw split system air conditioner in Melbourne?

We have to replace our main air con thanks to a gecko that fried itself on the main board. We also need existing system removed.

After a bit of research it's down to Mitsubishi or Fujitsu. I'm leaning towards the Fujitsu ASTG30KMTA 8.5KW(C)/ 9.0KW(H)

I've had one air con company recommended on Whirpool forum quote on supply and install of the Fujitsu. The price of the unit is higher than at GG and their price for install and removal of existing system seemed way to high. Of course now is not the time to get deal I suppose, but try convincing my better half to wait!

Also has anyone had any experience of buying from GG or HN and having them install rather than a specialist air con company?

    The good guys sold me 2 x Fujitsu aircons and arranged installation in 2009. I got no complaints, the install was done well and the units still work as new 6 years on.

    I think you might be better off going with a install from GG / HN since they would have vetted the installer and wouldn't be sending business there way if they had complaints from customers.

    Thanks for the info. The GG have the Fujitsu unit at a good price. I'll have to see what their price is for installation and removal of old air con

    I'm based in Sydney but I've had, over time, x5 Fujitsu air con units installed in my place.. I went through a site called 'serviceseeking.com.au' to find a cheap installer. It proved to be waaaay cheaper for me, it was clear the installer performed the installation around another job he was working on so it took a while to complete, but it was perfectly installed and a big cost saving.

    I'll have a look at them. The GG had a good price on the air con but when I added up their price for install, roof mount and removal of old unit it came to about $1200. About the same as the other quotes.
