Don't you just love it when hippies against mining buy lamps and gems produced from … mining. I love it as much as vegans wearing leather shoes.

My personal favorite is "Fixie" tyres made with Animal based Stearic Acid - Stick that in your top knot hipster Steve!

      • Mine #1 dodgy AF product would have to be the coffee pod. I mean, wtf, as a society as a whole, we know to much packaging is bad for landfill, and have gone to great lengths the last 20 years to reduce our impact rubbish wise, with biodegradables, refillables and sensible shopping choices, and along comes a reinvention of the tablespoon, and the whole world just up and make it a fad, to the point I could not even find a normal coffeemaker in my supermarket last week when my coffeepot broke. Coffee Pods and Bum Wipes, are sure indicator, that being green these days is little more than a fashion statement for most.

Vegans I know will NOT buy leather shoes… maybe some will buy second hand good leather boots and jackets from Op Shops and such but wont support new business that comes from killing animals.

"hippies' aren't against mining, just certain kinds of mining and mining practices. But, don't let facts get in the way of stereotyping.

  • lol ive seen these. whats good about them?

They release positive energy to align your chakras to give you a fuzzy feeling and sense of self-worth.

      Hi ed123,

      Thank you for your comment.

Salt lamps can be use anywhere, where the air need to be cleaned or an odour need to be controlled. They are natural ions generators that helps purify air.

Please give us a call on 1300 798 220 if you have any other questions.

These things make snake oil claims and also are a fire hazard. I have seen one degrade and leak over exposed wires.
Misleading and false health claims and cheaply made ie fire hazard

    • +1

      hrmm. that's bad.

      • But it comes with a free frogurt…..

        • +1

          hrmmm. that's good.

    • Hmm…. Mine is on 24/7 and hopefully it doesnt catch fire one day. Funnily enough though, its located directly under my house fire extinguisher.

(I just think they look cool, don't think my air will become Positive Ion Health Magicised TM overnight)

You do realise all electrical wiring has electromagnetic radiation so the lamp reduces it's own electromagnetic radiation? What does natural ion generators mean. Ions are just positively charged atoms so what does it actually do with health?

      • +1

Light/photon is a nothing more than a wave-particle propagating via the electromagnetic field. This product is a lamp shade, so of course it will reduce the EM radiation. I would be asking for a refund otherwise.

I am more puzzled by the claim of natural ions generator. How does a lump of salt generate ions on its own? Where from does it obtain the ionisation energy?

  • Buy one of these to go with it to detect the positive fire creating ions.

I hear that Himalayan salt does wonders in the bath….ergo $17 for an energising dip sounds like it'll have you positively recharged for the holidays.

    • +1

I'm sure these would do wonders in the bath too. Plenty of ions

  • From looking at the website, the tealight holders (not a lamp at all) are $17. The lamps start from $21: http://search.golights.com.au/search#?lbc=golights&method=an…

Also delivery appears to be $8 to Sydney

    • Hi syba,

I don't see how this is a bargain still.. any competitive pricing?

  • +2

I've got a salt lamp I grabbed from Poland last time. I didn't know anything about ions or neurons, it just looks nice as a decorative table lamp, so bought it. Been using for year now, no melted salt, haven't gone into my salad so far etc.

Rep - Do you know what gabbage is about: "free from electromagnetic fields & create Negative Ions," and "•Absorb electromagnetic radiation from electronic equipment" ?

My basic Physics tells me electromagnetic field is created when there is an electricity flow so do you think "Negative ions" would NOT create EMF ?
How is something Absorb electromagneti radiation ? Make tin foil hat will stop it getting to your brain but absorb ???

BTW if I run out of table salt can I lick this instead ?

    • +2

One who licks their lamps can truly claim that "I love Lamp!"

    • +1

I can answer last question, you can lick this. I lick mine sometimes, but just keep in mind that it gathers dust. So its a bit of a dusty, salty, lick

Buy at own risk from these guys, bought before and they sent me not only the wrong light and it was also damaged, I sent it back with their prepaid for free. Then I had to chase them up for a refund as the customer service was unhelpful and they just didn't want know about it. After a few weeks of chasing them up I had to raise a dispute with paypal and on the last day they still hadn't replied to any of my paypal msgs. I ended calling paypal and the CS resolved it in my favour and refunded my money back. Never again.

I got one as a present, I actually found the lighting effect to be pretty awesome. That was until the light blew a week later…
Now it's just generating natural ions collecting dust :/

  • I DON'T RECOMMEND BUYING FROM THESE GUYS!!!

I've placed two orders with these guys. My first order, everything processed fine. I got my order within a week from purchase date.

My second order however… I placed the order well over a week ago, everything paid for on the day I placed my order. My items have been stuck in the warehouse awaiting shipping for over a week with no updates to why. I emailed them 3 times and NO RESPONSE at all. Very bad customer service.
