    don't think so. they had a 50% off sitewide sale since that last 20% off and that one didn't require a code.

    have to agree in part with tdw. They probably realised that they need a code to get the buyer to see the 20% off instead of just setting the price as if you are already seem the RRP minus the 20% off. See comment https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/3210452?redirect=1. This post that you mentioned didn't have a code so it was implied the 20% off was embedded in the price.
