  • When you say recurring, does it charge at the higher price?

    • Nope, the "recurring" discount means that you'll have that price for as long as you remain on that plan.

  • Is shell access available on these plans?

    • Shell access is not available.

  • Good lord, I wonder how long this "host" will last. Is it already that the time of year again where we see overnight host pop up left and right? Hidden whois data, no contact information, generic theme, low prices… I bet OP will get bored and shut down after one month.

    • I run a couple of hosting companies, this is just a new brand and I'm trying to bring in a few early customers with a large, never to be repeated discount.

  • I feel SHARED web hosting is pathetic.. there are always people who abuse shared resources..

I am saying this from my own experience. I have my website hosted one a shared server and my site faces downtime at least 3-4 times a day.. dedicated hosting is a bit expensive but comes with peace of mind.

    • Down time…. depends on who is responsible for patching same problem on azure with single server.

  • Specs at all?

    PHP ver interchangeable?
    PHP extensions configurable?
    Apache or other httpd?
    Limitations?
    Socks?
    External streams?
    Cron?

Domain not included, but subdomains run from which domain?

    • Specs: Unsure, servers are provided by HostNine and they don't provide much information on the underlying hardware.

PHP version is interchangable - 5.3-5.6, on a per directory basis.
PHP extensions: you do have access to the PHP Extensions and Applications repository (PEAR) via your cPanel
      Server type: nginx
Limitations: as specified in the individual plans. Limits apply to number of email accounts, total server space, monthly transfer allocations, etc.
      Socks: No
      External streams: No
Cron: Can be configured via cPanel

Domain isn't included - BYO domain from any registrar. We recommend NameSilo and NameCheap. We don't offer subdomains.

      • Nice! No external unfortunately won't work for me :( Not even if you halfed the limits? Need to monitor a few sites for changes a few times a day.

Anyway, good luck on your venture!

        • Actually, what you're talking about there might work on our server. If you're interested in testing it out, sign up for an account (and log a ticket to notify me it's you), and I'm happy to offer you a 30 day money back period to test your code and if it doesn't work, I'll refund you.

  • This could mean cheap email hosting for home uses who want to use their own domain, even tradies who want to look more professional than gmail, etc

    • BYO Domain might be the barrier for entry, as some professional installation might be required. Say what you will, but configuring name records is not the easiest thing to do for a sparkie or carpenter.

  • Hey guys! Final days of this deal - we've had a number of OzB users sign up with us, but we don't want you to miss out on what is the largest discount we'll ever be offering.
