Car Rego CTP and Comprehensive Insurance Question! (WA)

Hey guys, I bought my first car this year in April and got RAC Comprehensive Insurance, I'm paying roughly $78/month.
I just noticed on my car registration notice, that I'm paying $65 for Insurance (which is a third party). Why am I paying for two insurances?

I don't know much about this stuff but I'm curious to know why.

  Because it's a con

  I seriously think if you have comprehensive insurance, that should be it.
  CTP for anything less.

  That is third-party life insurance only.

  I might be wrong, but isn't the compulsory third party insurance for when you drive into somebody else's house, or run over a pedestrian and kill them etc?

  The comprehensive insurance is your damage to your car itself.

    comprehensive covers both my car and other car, but im not sure if property.
    What insurance can repay a life? cant be life insurance, its all automotive.
