A cheap tablet that can play 720p videos. would like it to be around $50

  There's the Alcatel Pixi tablet, which sells for around that much.

  However, while it is capable of playing 720p that doesn't mean it will display it at 720p, since the display resolution is qHD.

  I managed to pick up 3 of these earlier today http://www.laserco.com.au/MID-735-tablet-7-etouch-everyday-t… for $10 each. Not sure if they're able to do what you want it to but I think it's a great gift for my 3 and 4 year old niece and nephew. Plus one spare :)

    Does it have to be $50 though? The Lenovo Tab 2 A7 10 (or 20, they're pretty much the same thing) is a $100 and it's pretty decent.
