Hi I would like to know how people have been fast tracking their way to gold status with an airline company. I unfortunately missed out on Aegean's easy path to gold status so just looking at possible alternatives.
What's an easy way to get gold status with an airline frequent flyer

Don't have that luxury unfortunately
Use family pooling. I went from nothing to gold in under 12 months with 2 trips. Hunt for the sale airfares to places like NZ or Bali which you can do for $3-400 return each.
You can accumulate points that way? What flyer programs are you using atm?
Virgin yes,
Qantas no
Does anyone know how many points you need to accumulate with Qantas to get to gold?
700 status credits if you are silver, 650 to retain if you are already gold
Status has got nothing to do with FF points. You have to accumulate a certain number of "status credits"to be awarded Gold FF status. You can only earn status credits by flying. Eg when flying Sydney to Perth I normally get 20 status credits with Qantas. Require 700 in a year to get Gold status. I currently have Gold status with both Virgin and Qantas. One of the (few) advantages of being a FIFO worker.
Virgin is 500 status credits qualify and then 400 per year after,
If you travel with kids gold is a god send as you get priority checkin, boarding and baggage. Plus the lounge of course.
Flying cheap domestic AA in USA is best to get status points.
Fly business class to the US a few times.
