My XP expires in a few days.
Can i still get the Win7 (50 dollar) upgrade?
Or do i have to get the new OEM version for 108 dollars?
I guess it mostly depends on whether you have access to an email address ending in .edu.au or someone who's willing to let you use theirs. I was reading that the $50 version can work as a clean install. If it fails you can always follow one of the three methods here: http://www.winsupersite.com/win7/clean_install_upgrade_media…
As a last resort you could also have a look at the open source alternatives (linux/unbuntu).
Yes it is.
Have a look at the thread here for some more info: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/22345
With Win7 you can get it for $50 if you're a student, and it seems the OEM version is going for around $100.
