I have a 16Gb version of this card, it's not bad.
I get 12MB write and 27MB read speed.
The only problem with my card is that it's a bit too thick and sometimes it's difficult to remove it from the slot.

    cheers.

    didn't need it.

    Can't argue with $5

    • +3

I wouldn't trust putting data on a cheap memory card.

    • +2

Slow and …"not very reliable and may die after a few months."

Just a waste of time and money.

    • +2

You can argue $5 for garbage is not a deal.

  • +1

    Great price.

  • Thanks, ordered one. Worth a shot for the dollars.

  • +7

    sigh, thanks

  • Can't go wrong for the price.
On a slightly unrelated note, I hope they have another 6c promotion in the near future, that was awesome :)

    • What's 6c?

      • This
8c, not 6c.. but still, it was an awesome promotion while it lasted!

        • Oh, 6 cents. Yeah, that was a memorable day..

        • I was only charged 7c :)

    • +1

You can go wrong if you put data you can't afford to lose on it without a backup.

  • +2

They say 32GB but it's just some funky software trickery. It's actually a 16GB you will find. If anyone can store anymore than 16GB, I'll take an OzB sabbatical.

    • Nah, this must be a real deal. The seller of this item is JD itself, they don't sell fakes.

      • +1

You take JD to be saints which they ain't. I feel burnt with their lack of action on a wrong item being sent as well as a faulty Lenovo K3 Note. Oh also with a seller sending the TDD model of MI Note 2 when I paid the extra for FDD. Utter tools.

        • they are the exact same phone and same hardware, TDD and FDD.

          ;)

        • @Makoto: so why charve me extra?

        • @spy: the only tool here wouldnt be jd.com

jd is the same as eBay with many sellers.

        • @Makoto: you miss the point. They sold the phone to me as FDD whilst also listing the TDD separately at the cheaper price. They then shipped me the TDD anyway.

        • @spy: so go on JD and say item received was not as described, even though it is exactly the same

        • @Makoto: But I did you see but no response. PayPal decided the matter in the sellers favour as they claimed there is not enough evidence to support my case without even seeking any further info.

Look at the recent reviews. They die quickly. I'd rather spend a bit more safeguarding my data.

  • Ha, here's a review translated from Russian:
    "Bad 10/12/2015 20:02:08
pc 29gb identified. but only managed to record 15.2gb. further he wrote, "is not enough space on the removable media"
    Stay away from these.

    • There are lots and lots of other reviews that say that the size is true 32Gb.

      • Like which one?

        • Like almost all of them. (I can read Russian)
One user posted results of testing with H2testw tool:
Test finished without errors. You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again. Writing speed: 11.3 MByte/s Reading speed: 21.0 MByte/s H2testw v1.4

Карта памяти отлично работает в моём смартфоне. Не глючит. Общий объём честные 32 ГБ.
          Page 5

The memory card works fine in my smartphone. Do not buggy . The total amount of fair 32GB .

        • @azm: Err I see 10 reviews and not one you post is one of 'em.

        • +1

@spy: There are 2393 reviews of this card.

        • @doperst: The mobile view only shows 10 reviews. That explains what's going on.

      • +2

блин, я на лепру боюсь заходить чтобы опять не напокупать фигни, теперь и тут :)

  • +3

i dont get how you even sign up on this website… keeps saying 'Please enter your validation number.' Also, whats the deal with 'Send code' button.

For an extra 79 cents i think ill just buy off ebay and not deal with the sign up hassle and can use cashrewards

PayPal protection rocks, $#!t$ all over JD's lack of it.
If it turns out to be a fake, they will refund. With AliExpress punks, they will only return 50% says 16GB of it works at least. With JD, well, don't get me started. They have a long way to go if they have aspirations of being the next Amazon.

      • I've always gotten back 100% of monies with fake SD cards through aliexpress dispute service. Just provide a screen dump of h2test

        • Not me.

    • +1

You need to put your Australian number into the phone number column.
      For example "431234987"

The only problem with mine is that it's a bit too thick and sometimes it's difficult to remove it from the slot.

what were we talking about again?

Even then that is usually not a problem :p

    • +8

you took away the "that's what she said" opportunity

  • Just bought a friend one of Coles' Mobile shop/stand's ZTE Chat for ~$35
This'll boost its 4 GB(!) storage area up a bit…

  • Only just received my speaker from jd from the last sale back in September… Little reluctant only for that reason.

    • +1

I made about 10 orders in November, have received them all.

  • Bought two thanks.

    • How? I can only seem to buy one

      • +1

        two separate orders.

        • Ahh, sweet, just did that myself.

  • I'm sure I paid around $13 for a similar card not long ago. Good deal.

  • +1

My orders from the 8c sale are missing from my account, some of which never arrived and I can no longer track them/get details

  • +1

i dont even want to risk 5 bucks….

    • -1

what risk? paypal my friend has never failed me.

      • +2

        I guess data risk

        • -1

why would you store important info on a $5 sd card? ive had many sandisk's a well known brand fail on me in the past.

        • +1

          @holden93:

Ive also had a sandisk card fail on me. However it went into a locked read-only sate so at least i could get my data off it before sending it back in.

  • Thanks for the deal! Just bought 5 :)

  • Bought one.. For Tablet (DS Mammoth sale)

  • Would anyone trust this in a dashcam? Too unreliable?

    • I'm also curious about using this in a dashcam

  • Cant believe that no one has had this issue this far. So I am trying to setup my account to buy and it wouldn't allow me unless I have an invitation code, can someone please help??

    • You need to put your mobile number, then press send code.

      • thanks for your response, i did do that this morning too.
iam talking about the last box when signing up its called the Invitation code:
I got the Verify code : on my mobile no issue.
but unless i put invitation submit button just keeps saying The code is incorrect or overdue

        • Maybe the capcha code has changed?

      • +1

Does this mean epic mobile spamming coming your way?

  • Did anyone get items bought at the singles day offer from JD? My order status says 'Awaiting Acceptance' for over a month now!

You can always resize and make the microsd a 16GB or even 8 GB it by using a hack tool.

That way if you have bad sectors your data will automatically write into a good sector as the micro-controller will automatically skip the bad sectors.

  • -1

They only actually hold a few GBs and will corrupt the files on it.

    • Not true, I ran the test on this card and got the following:

Warning: Only 30659 of 30660 MByte tested.
      Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
      Writing speed: 11.9 MByte/s
      Reading speed: 22.5 MByte/s
      H2testw v1.4

  • +1

Sounds like a 16G with some sort of read/write compression.

  • +2

Too bad I ordered one before reading the warning. Hopefully its not that bad.

  • +1

Forgot to buy, however they'll probably all be $5 from next year anyway.

  • +2

    Arrived today. Test results:

Warning: Only 30659 of 30660 MByte tested.
    Test finished without errors.
You can now delete the test files *.h2w or verify them again.
    Writing speed: 11.9 MByte/s
    Reading speed: 22.5 MByte/s
    H2testw v1.4

    • Here are some crystaldiskmark tests from this card, plus my 64gb sandisk ultra (from two years ago) and my 128gb sandisk ultra (the new faster version).

      http://imgur.com/a/BmaOt

Interesting results. This card seems quite fast tbh. (I also loaded it with 20gb and ran it again, was pretty much the same).

I'm currently running a write and read full pattern set test on it via ChkFlsh (been going for 13h and no errors so far).

https://i.imgur.com/U1Rd0R4.png (i'll report back when its done)

  • i ordered 2, one came today but the other still hasn't been shipped!

should i just go through paypal and get a refund?

    • Does it say it hasnt been shipped?

I also ordered 2, one i got a tracking number, the other i didnt. One arrived yesterday, the other today.

Weirdly enough one says the return address is in the netherlands, the other has an australia post label and says NSW. odd.

      • i guess i'll wait a little longer, but it's still awaiting dispatch. i have sent 2 messages to the seller(once a couple of weeks back and again yesterday) with no contact back :(

i agree that it's not bad at all speed-wise, according to windows, it did ~9mb/s on my laptop card reader, and ~17mb/s on my usb 3.0 card reader!

        • Awaiting dispatch…..mmmm, i'd give it maybe a few more days then hit up paypal.

Yeah speeds are pretty good: http://imgur.com/a/BmaOt

Quite a bit faster than my sandisk 64gb ultra
