Just be aware as well that this model may not be able to be bootloader unlocked which means you cannot use custom roms like CM12 and 13.
Why is that? Can you give a reference of this info? I am just curious.

LG have decided in their infinite wisdom to only allow certain EU versions to have an unofficial bootloader unlock. They refuse to release the same capability to other models. I have the H815 TWN model from the flurry of deals that was on OzB some weeks back and this model cannot be unlocked.
There is a fair amount of discontent with end users around this and despite the research from the clever people out there nobody has managed to find a weakness in LG's code yet.
Thanks for the reply! Quite informative for me.
Not that good of a price really. Consider Christmas coming there sure to be a sale on the 815 model for around $450
What differences exactly they have as in 815 Vs 818?

tldr more frequecy band, fast charging + wireless charging and stronger battery life on the 1 sim version.
Understood.. so the single sim version is better than dual one. Is it?
there is another problem. i ordered a phone from JD couple of weeks back. no confirmation, no response to emails, no shipping update. is that normal?
Plus if you actually insert 2 SIMs into the device, the second SIM only works on 2G. Only one SIM will maintain an active 3G/4G connection at any given time, the other one falls back to 2G.
Thats pretty common in most dual sim phones. It's called passive rather than active dual sim.
It is active dual Stand-by…but because the modem in the chipset is only capable of one data connection at a time on a mobile network, the other SIM defaults to a voice-only 2G operation.
Moreover, if either of the 2 SIMs is on a call, the other one shows as unreachable to callers.
Yep as said, there are very few dual sim phones that have dual active data connections - if they can swap without swapping slots that a big step up from others. Understandably it is annoying (I use a Zenfone2 dual sim - and run 2x numbers). The biggest issue i face is getting picture messages and contacts sent to the second number that doesn't have data.
But I don't see why you'd highlight this as an issue when it's common across most dual sim phones?
Because it's not obvious from the descriptions given by the manufacturers… The specs on sites like GSMArena list both SIMs as 3G/4G capable, without clarifying even though they're capable, they won't work concurrently on 3G/4G.
My old Moto G didn't need slot swapping, you could allocate through the OS which SIM is the primary…
The deal is good. Never used the seller before. I'm on a LG dual sim right now. Work sim in the second port. The buttons on the back are not for everyone, I personally love them there.
G4 is by far the best phone I've ever used
it seems to be back in stock at JD. is it a legit site? has someone ordered and received stuff from them? a bit wary about ordering from them.
Does it sacrifice any frequencies to the single SIM?
