Whats the difference between US and AU store other than the currency it charges?
Is US account better for some reason as I alway see the deals posted for both

Cant find the article on here on how to change…
any chance for a link :)
You go to account settings after logging on, then manage your content and devices, and there is an option to change countries. I first saw this on Ozbargain. There is a link showing how it is done, but am unable to find it right now. It is simple enough to do, and it can be done as frequently as you like or as required. A link would show the last 4 numbers of my credit card, my name and order details links as well. I will keep looking for the Ozbargain link.

This link shows you how to change to the Australian store. It would be the same for the US store. You go to Manage Your Content and Devices, then to Settings. In here is Country Settings.
The range of books is different, US store has the largest catalog afaik, I think UK is second largest (at least for English language books). US used to be cheaper but As bambooculm mentions that's not always the case now. I've been using the US one for years and prefer it.
US offers things like FreeTime and Family Sharing. I use these so I prefer the US store. They also offer many more deals on ebooks, but sometimes it's not available to Australian customers.
Why be concerned about which one might be better, when you can use both? You can change between them as often as you like. Normally I only change because of a pricing difference, and then change back again.
If you use family sharing, switching to the Aussie store will lose everything you've set up, and it's a pain to go through and switch stores each time you want to.
where is the option to change?
You've got to go through the settings to do it. It's several screens to go through.
Amazon would prefer that we use the Australian Kindle store for kindle books and Amazon apps. Sometimes there is a price difference, and when that happens, you can change to the other one using settings, and then change back again. Eventually, the Australian website will offer goods as well. If you do a book review on the Australian website, it does not normally appear on the US one. There is a link on Ozbargain showing how to change from US to Australian or back again. The Australian website only offers kindle books and apps. I like to support the Australian website when there is no price difference. Most of the kindle books I download are free or close to free, even from the Australian website. I suppose I support the Australian website as I am a big fan of Amazon and their amazing customer service, and they want us to support the Australian website. The deals are posted with links for both so you can compare prices, and for convenience as it saves you a search. On the US website, I have my Australian address and two US mail forwarding addresses for when an item is not shipped to Australia. Until the Australian dollar recovers, my US online spending is on hold.
