Please Help Me out --- What Is The Cheapest Parking Option in The Sydney City on Weekends Please?

I need to study in the city @117 York st in Sydney on weekends. The course goes from 9:30 to 4:30 and I normally go out for dinner with my girlfriends and leave the city around 7pm.

What is the best parking option do I have? I am pretty healthy and able to walk a bit distance if the fare would be drop dramatically be doing that. I do need to carry laptop and Christmas gift to my classmates as this is the last class before Christmas.

Thanks so much.

    See if any are on the list close to your class: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/220439

    I've parked here before, it's a little tight to maneuver though if you have a big car https://www.wilsonparking.com.au/park/2202_St-Andrews-House-… weekend rate $15 or book it for $10

    You can generally find places between $10 to $15 on the weekends :)

    • I have a Toyota 4wd as I have a big family.

      I will try the Wilson parking then. Thanks so much.

    • I have never book a parking before.

      If I book for 8am to 8pm and enter from 9am and leave at 7pm, then I should be safe. Is that right?

        Yep that's right, it even allows you an hour each side. So if you're actually going to be there from 9-7, you could book from like 9:30am-6:30pm and be fine, but it's probably the same flat rate.

          Look around at the carparks and just check their weekend rates or if they have book-a-bay which turns out cheaper :) there are plenty of carparks around the city! I'm just suggesting this carpark as I've parked there but I rarely drive to the city!

          I know I used to book the exit time quite late so you could exit anytime beforehand… e.g. book exit at 9pm so you can leave 7 or 8 if you decide to have dessert, the entry time has a grace period so try to time that right!

          https://www.wilsonparking.com.au/faq "In the case of Earlybird and Weekly Earlybird bookings, the grace period is applied prior to and following your booked entry time. You therefore have a window around your nominated entry time to enter the car park. There is also a grace period following your exit time, however you can exit the car park prior to your nominated exit time with no additional charges."

          ok, my friend had a big company ute, he still fit in but it was a bit tight trying to exit! I generally park at Goulburn street but thought it might be a bit of a walk for you.

        • yes, booking for the whole day is 12 dollars anyway.If I booked to enter @ 8am, however be there @9am, will that be ok?

          @jiaqi518:

          Yeah completely safe, you could leave at 8:45pm :)

          @jiaqi518:

          yeah, as long as you're in that range, otherwise just pay a bit extra for normal weekend parking. Generally not too much traffic on the weekend mornings, I think you get maybe an hour or so after your booked time as Spackbace mentioned.

          P.S. don't forget to bring the credit card you booked with if you go with booking :)

          Another option is to park at the train station near you, you're early enough you'll get a good spot and you're leaving for home pretty early. Saves you the hassle driving in with all the George St closures!
