Hi all, I bought a Sony Xperia running kitkat to replace my stolen Y550. However, the 2 features i really liked are missing.
1. The pull down menu going straight to basic settings (sony goes to notificatins first)
2. Do Not Disturb mode option missing?
Is there any way to get rid of/ change the notifications menu location? & where is the DND mode in this version of KitKat?

Basic settings can be added as widgets on the home screen. And mute is pretty much the same thing as DnD.
I want only family to be able to call me outside work hours. So mute wont cut it.
I found an App to do what comes stock on Huawei phones, funny enough called "Do Not Disturb"
The quick settings menu in the notifications pulldown can be added with Power Toggles.

It's a 5 star app and it has no in-app payments or ads.
DND is basically a mute, and is part of Lollipop update. But it can be added in using a variety of apps.
Not sure if it is available on your xperia, but on my Z3, using two fingers to pull down the menu goes to the settings page, whilst using one finger goes to notifications.
Can't remember if there was a DND mode on my Z3 prior to updating to lollipop though, sorry.

and the App called 'Do Not Disturb' has a few nice bonuses on the stock DND / Block mode of other manufacturers
But..I can't add it to the quick settings drop down menu..2/3 aint bad!
I am getting the feeling that those might be Huawei's modification to stock KitKat.
I remember hearing about "Do Not Disturb" becoming available on Lollipop, so I think that's the case.
In terms of pull down menu, I know that Nova Launcher Prime allows you to change the setting on the gesture (i.e. I changed two finger pull down to expand quick settings"). It's only 20c right now (I personally recommend it, the launcher offers various features and it's fairly light).
I think I've heard few apps taht adds DND feature to the phone, can't really remember the names (since I've never needed those).
Or you could go into looking at custom ROMs that offer those features (CM 12 and 12.1 are lollipop based and DND feature was introduced on lollipop I think?) or xposed modules that add DND feature.
