I know there is plenty of warning signs on this forum to avoid GearBest, but thought I'd add my 2c to save others the hassle of dealing with them.
TLDR - Gearbest offer faster shipping options for an extra cost, but just take your money and don't honour them. Then they call you a liar for calling them out on it.
Full story…
I ordered a new phone (Xiaomi MI4c), with a stated 3-5 day processing time, and I opted to pay an extra ~$8.50AUD to upgrade the shipping to a 3-7 day ETA Toll option. Well sure enough the phone was sent out on day 5, but has been sent via Singapore Post with a 10-25 business day shipping time. I logged a support ticket questioning this, 72 hours later a response where they denied I paid for express shipping, despite there being an extra charge on the invoice.
I guess I can dispute this cost partially through PayPal, but not sure if I could be bothered over ~$8.50. The annoying part is I had this shipped to work, which will shut down and stop receiving mail from the end of next week until early Jan. Very frustrating.
Good luck getting a refund from Gearbest now the item has been shipped! I tried after the item got sent back to sender by the courier (even though Gearbest claimed I had received and signed for it by sending me altered tracking information) and the best they offered was half the value back. Ended up having to drive to a warehouse near the airport where it had been sitting for 3 weeks. Took Gearbest that long to find it.
Not my only story regarding their dishonest dealings, but have now learned my lesson!
