German manufactured or Bosch parts assembled in China? I think if it says "German Engineered" on it then it's usually made in China
actually "Made in Germany", not China
We bought a Miele WDA210 front loader earlier this year.

We are happy with it so far. Solidly built, quiet, easy to operate, love the Delay Start feature. I had a top loader before this one and I also have back problems. I had some concerns on how I'd cope with bending down to load/unload but it's actually been better for my back.
If you go for a Miele, I'd recommend you have Miele come install it for you. The guy who came and did my install was a wealth of knowledge - he was better than any product manual! Talked me through all the things I needed to know.

I got the BOSCH waw28460au for $1049 delivered and installed from the good guys when they were first released.
It can just handle a queen size mink blanket. Very happy with it though, would not go back to a top loader and I did pay double to get something not made in China.
The fave on Whirlpool forums seems to be a WAW28460AU model 8kg Bosch front loader at around $1100
It's German Manufactured, in that happy features/price point between the high end ASKO/Miele and the low end Simson/Whirlpool/Hoovers.
