reputable sellers?
Damn I got ripped off. Spent $98 on Extreme Plus a few days ago at a bricks and mortar store.
Never buy memory from a bricks and mortar store. You may as well donate your money to charity.
So much fake memory out there on Ebay and I wanted it then and there…shrug.
There are trusted sellers and then there are the rest.
PC.byte are trusted sellers.
Ebay is also not the only online place to get things. Amazon is another.
Sorry but I consider every Ebay purchase a gamble. Even brick and mortar places behave badly with their Ebay stores.
Amazon are for all practical purposes beyond the reach of our laws.
In fact I once tried to bring Fair Trading into an Ebay issue and no state consumer protection body would touch it because it went across states (NSW purchasing from VIC).
In the end on this one I played and I lost…I've ordered a couple more cards here. I do have uses for them.
I purchased one of these from an eBay seller in November 2014 for more than double the listed price here and it worked fine for about 4 times I used it over the last year. Until now. I am trying to get it under warranty with Sandisk seeing as it has a lifetime warranty but it seems to be hard to get it fixed or a new one because I brought it from an eBay store. They want to know the physical address of where I got it from.
However it seems to be a genuine card from what I can tell. I registered it on the Sandisk website with the serial number on the card. It seemed to register ok.
Looks like this deal came up just in time if I need to get a new one.@syousef: Amazon are not dodgy. Selling fakes is too risky for a brand as big as they are.
Wrong. Amazon have shipped fakes according to this:
http://petapixel.com/2012/12/09/beware-counterfeit-memory-ca…@syousef: From your posted link:
Update: An important distinction: “Fulfilled by Amazon” means that the company is managing and shipping products listed by 3rd-party retailers, while “Ships from and sold by Amazon.com” means Amazon is selling the product itself. Sticking with the latter is a safe bet if you want to avoid counterfeit goods.
Amazon themselves are not selling fakes. It's the marketplace using Amazon to fulfill orders that are selling fakes. Amazon has no control over this, since they aren't vetting the products people sell on their site. If you buy something that is sold by and ships from amazon.com it's pretty safe.
And really, if Amazon are sourcing fake cards without knowing it, there's no reason to believe that your bricks and mortar store won't also fall for the same fakes. If you can't trust Amazon to only stock genuine products, nor can you trust bricks and mortar, because their sources are going to be no less reliable than anyone else's.
What is it with people being proven wrong, not bothering to read the proof and then persisting with their disproven statements????
The article I linked to had the title "Beware Counterfeit Memory Cards Being Shipped From Amazon Warehouses" - these were not partners.
As for your argument "nor can you trust bricks and mortar" - my experience has been that it's a lot easier to bring your Fair Trading body into the picture if you're 1) dealing with someone in the same state and 2) not dealing online.
@syousef: Pay more for your fair trading privileges if you want. I've never gotten fakes online, and I'll continue to source them there. In your experience, how many FTBs have you involved?
But at least you admit that B&M are just as susceptible to counterfeits as anyone. To me it sounds like it's too scary to buy memory from anywhere at all. The process of involving FTBs will take time and hassle.
Well if you never got fakes then I guess it must never happen huh?
When did I "admit that B&M are just as susceptible to counterfeits as anyone."? You have issues with comprehension. And as for your reductio ad absurdum, that's the weakest counter.
Anyway enough of this. What started off as friendly advice has ended up an "I told you so" and not one based on accurate info.
Should not add amaysim voucher
cos that has nothing to do with the dealThe Amaysim voucher doesn't work anyway
Yeah it does.. just used 2.. both accepted.. u should try again.
So it does. They must have fixed it.
Where is the amaysim voucher mentioned? Buy extra amaysim voucher? Or use amasim voucher to paid?
I noticed there are pc.byte and pc.byte.storage on eBay. Are they the same?
Same business.
Everything eBay related is a deal if you factor in the amaysim voucher
He did also include the non-vouchered price to be fair. And it seems like an alright price for this model. Sandisk puts a heavy tax on their Extreme Pro range.
Don't understand all the negativity… I've stated the price, which is the lowest currently from a reputable seller and for a card many including myself have been looking to get.
The voucher price is in brackets. It's a good deal even without.
Im merely reminding those who don't know about the amaysim deal to get an even better deal, the point of this site is to get the best possible deal right?
This attitude is exactly why newbies always say "first post, please be nice…etc", I've learnt my lesson, not even gonna bother next time, cheers
Do they make this drive in 128GB?
Available capacities: 16GB, 32GB, 64GB
The cheapo Ultra are now 80/50 MB/s read/write.
Note sure what we need Extreme and Extreme Pro for now. Thanks OP, bought one.
cheers, bought!
I like pcbyte and bought a few off then… hut there are others selling for cheaper on ebay.
