Chasing a cheap home theater speaker system

Need some speakers for the TV but don't want to spend a lot.

2.1 would be fine but guessing most of them are 5.1

Are there any bargains or specials? What stores are the best to keep an eye on. My eyes are peeled on dick smith at the moment, and I'm guessing JB HiFi. Any others?

What brands/models are good but cheap, and ideal to jump on when a special comes around?

Do they all come with a receiver or can you get ones that just plug into the headphone jack but still have a remote control?

    Second-hand speakers (from a reputable Aussie manufacturer) represent excellent value for money. I have Aarons (super cheap) and VAF (super awesome).

    Pair with a cheap HT receiver (Pioneer or similar brand) for an excellent sound experience.

    how cheap is cheap?

    the logitech z906 can be had for under $300 during sales & promos. Loud enough for movies & plenty bass.

      That looks ideal, but was hoping for around $200. Do any of the smaller Logitech systems have the wireless remote?
