I've been a longtime Ozbargainer, but first time post. I've been having a go at mobile-app development, and have produced my second app (my first app was a bit of a flop). This app is about cute cats meowing Christmas carols. The app is free, but to listen to all the cats meow the different Xmas carols, you'll need to pay via in-app purchases. I've just made the release just in time for December. So to start the month off, for the next 5 days, the in-app purchases will be for free for iOS and Android.
(I intend to have the in-app purchase prices to be 3.99USD/5.99AUD for iOS and 3.45USD/4.99AUD for Android to listen to all 12 Xmas tunes in the app - still to be confirmed after the free period)

I'd like to dream that this app has some potential to go viral before Christmas Day. And if it does, I'd like to give something back to this community. So after Xmas, on Boxing Day, I intend calculate my profits (after Apple/Google take their cut, costs for licensing, after tax, etc.), and give 7% back to the first Ozbargainers who's downloaded the app, in the form of $25 per Ozbargainer. In other words, if I profit $50,000, I'll take $3,500 out to give $25 to the first 140 Ozbargainers who's downloaded my app during this 5 day free period. If I profit $100,000, I'll take $7,000 to give $25 to the first 280 Ozbargainers, etc.
To participate in this, you'll have to:
1. download the app during this free period
2. be an Ozbargainer and post in the Comments that you've downloaded it (that way, I can verify your login)
3. email to [email protected] with your login in the subject: Ozbargainer <ozbargain login id>
4. (optional) provide positive rating or review on iTunes / Google Play
So on Boxing Day, I'll have your email contact and the time it was received from the email, in order to give you $25 if you're one of the first people to qualify for the above. (Payment is anticipated to be via Direct Deposit (so AUS banks only) or possibly PayPal - yet to be determined as I'll need to set up PayPal by Xmas). I liaise via email to organize this.
The only clause I'll put on this is that at the end of the 5 day free period, the number of app downloads MUST be larger than the emails I'll receive. If the number of emails are larger than number of downloads, that means people are emailing me the details without actually downloading my app. So, if this is the case, I won't give 7% back, and no one will get $25 (sorry, I'm just trying to avoid this getting exposed to abuse - and it's usually a small few people who ruin things for everyone else).
I'll be happy for an Ozbargain admin/moderator to oversee or audit this (and to make sure the Ozbargain logins are valid).

I won't be using your email details for any other purpose. I'm not here to scam anyone. I'm just a independent developer who's hoping to catch a break, and trying to think innovatively on how to get my app initially out there without much upfront costs.

Other terms and conditions - I reserve the right end the free period early (I can't see why I would need to, but if I do, I'll still be honoring the 7% to give back to the ozbargainers who qualify for $25 as stated above). Although, the app is currently free worldwide during this free period, this $25 offer is only available for Australian residents who are Ozbargain users. The $25 is in AUD.
Downloaded today and shared with my cat crazy girlfriend.
