The Good Guys Concierge Program? Thoughts and experiences?

Hi,

Has anyone bought this Good Guys product? I think it's kind of like extended warranty but with a few extra perks.

Anyone bought it? I'm looking about spending some coin on a $3k fridge and trying to work out if this would be of value?

Thanks in advance.

  • I've purchased their old extended warranty earlier this year, and haven't had to claim anything yet. However, I have heard from people close to me that their previous extended warranty offerings were reasonably smooth to deal with. If that's anything to go by, it might just be worth it.

Sounds a bit like old fashion customer service…Use to be free.

  • Our old TV had an extended warranty on it, and I forgot what the exact problem was but something to do with lines of dead pixels suddenly appearing on our Bravia TV. They basically got everything sorted, the TV was picked up by courier, and a newer model was delivered back to us as it wasn't worth fixing. Still using the new TV :)

  • I was just looking for somewhere to post my thoughts.

Buying a google mini, you get 3 years of Concierge service for $30.
    That's 9x $20 credits for $30. or 83% off
    Seems pretty good value.

sure the credits don't last long, max $20 at a time, and pretty much impulse buys, but significant savings.
price hipster makes it easy to search for $20 items as well.

The only thing I would stay clear would be purchasing gift cards through Good Guys Concierge Program. Twice have I purchased gift cards which should only take hours for delivery (electronic gift cards) and it had taken them over 5 weeks. Looks like they make use of the payment and hold on to it as long as possible which negates the small discount you receive for purchasing the gift card in the first place !

  • 2nding staying clear of the gift cards. I'm still waiting on a physical gift card from 2 months ago. Even paid for registered post. They said they don't have them, and they've just stopped replying to my emails.
