Mitsubishi MR-WX743Y - White Fridge $3359.20 Pick up (eBay/Bing Lee)

110
CXMASTECH

A super fridge for a couple or small/medium sized family. Unfortunately it's pick up only at Bing Lee.

Also an additional 3% (for the moment) through cashrewards - that is $125.97, so total price would be $3233.23

Original eBay 20% off CXMASTECH deal

I have the smaller 562 litre version of this and don't regret paying so much at all. It's a great fridge. Far better than any other fridge I've seen, so much tech and great quality. Only a few minor niggles - not much bottle or milk storage and the shelves are a little flexible.

However I've seen this bigger version and because it's wider there is more bottle/carton room in the doors and the shelves are tempered glass, so I can't see any problems at all.

They are super efficient and quiet and compact for the size and versatility. 5 year warranty.

    looks like a pantry

    • The bottom drawer is kinda like one. It can be a 'cool room'. Great for veg and drinks. Some of the compartments can be changed from freezer to cool drawer.

      • Wow, now all it needs is an app to control it

        • The panel on the front takes a bit of mastering. All kinds of handy functions like 'turn the ice making on, or off now, or I've just put a load of shopping or drinks in could you bung on a bit of extra cold for a while'.

    Mitsubishi MR-WX743Y

    4WD ?

    • MR is clearly mid-engine rear-drive.

  • Also this one for $2002. Not sure if it's an inverter or made in Japan like the one above.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Mitsubishi-MR-L650EH-ST-A-650L-Fr…

    • Turn off the power and youve got yourself a new walk in wardrobe

      • Yes. I'm not a fan of this craze for huge American style fridges. It does seem if you want a fancy high tech fridge you have to get a huge one. The 562 litre Mitsubishi is as small as I could find with good tech and reliability. Samsung and LG make some reasonably fancy mid sized fridges , but I'm not sure of the quality. Certainly can't match these ones.

  • This fridge is awesome, going by the specs, particularly energy ratings. However, most fridge spaces are standard sizes, eg: 600, 700, 800, 900, etc. This fridge is a weird size. However we were prepared to deal with that, and have a lot of extra space on the sides in our fridge space. The deal breaker was the HEIGHT of the fridge, which is also too tall for many standard kitchen builds.

    • The 562 litre was the only fancier type fridge I could put in a standard fridge space. I had a spot that couldn't take a single door swing. This one worked great. Kinda like a mini french door one. The freezer and veg drawers are better than a lot with drawers - they're not so deep that you lose track of what is underneath.

  • We've got this fridge, but it took almost 2 months to arrive as Mitsubishi were out of stock and waiting for the next shipment from overseas. Other than that, it's an awesome fridge - no complaints at all! Great price for it

Edit: Pickup would be the only downside to this - I'm happy I paid the delivery charge for them to get it into the kitchen for us

    • I moved the 562 litre by myself (went through a standard doorway). They have wheels on one side, so you tilt it and push. They are pretty heavy.

    • Same story here took 2 months to get it. Got it yesterday. Loving it so far though still a bit iffy on the settings (looks like i froze a steak in the warm freezer draw). Its good that its narrower compared to the other fridges as my fridge space is in a corner and the doors can open fully -well at least enough so all the draws in the fridge section can slide out and be accessible - which would have been an issue with other french door fridges (didn't want a single door fridge as I feel they loose a lot more cold air when opened up).

Height is very tall, I should have had 5mm clearance .. But by the time I leveled it i lost that clearance easily and had to raise the cupboard above - which was easy enough and always an option I had planned for with my setup.

Had no issues moving it inside on my own (one step, one doorway) glides well on the rollers. Though if you do have many steps or turns you are going to need help.

FYI paid 3600 ish from memory (Kambos) including delivery. Best price i could get in Perth also harder to haggle when no one has stock and need to order it in I think.

These are good too if you want a more compact one $1078

Or a more conventional proportioned Electrolux - $1116

These Panasonic's are pretty nice, but not sure of the quality $1201

      Avoid Electrolux and subsidiary companies.
They're no longer made in Australia.
They charge over $500 to fix a known fault which most other companies charge approximately $100 if at all considering it's a known fault.

  • non-plumbed ice maker. How much ice do you make before you fill up the reservoir again?

    • +1

Reservoir seems to hold a little over 1.5 litres in it. and in 24 hours seems to have turned almost all of it into ice cubes (I don't have i set to 'fast ice') .. which looks like it has filled maybe 1/4 of the ice storage compartment or say a 4L ice cream container (water expands ice sits loosely)

      • thanks. I always wondered how much ice they made - thought it would be pretty uesless making say a cup at a time. But it seem to be quite fine.

        • I always thought that was the height of ridiculousness (having an ice maker), but it's actually really handy. Make a drink, pop open the ice drawer and scoop out some ice (it has a spot for the scoop).

One thing I do like in some double door fridges is the small flap that you can open if you just want the milk from the door. These don't have that, but the top two doors aren't huge so you aren't losing heaps of air each time you open it.

        • @wfdTamar:

I always thought that was the height of ridiculousness (having an ice maker), but it's actually really handy.

its one of those 'once you've had it you never want to buy a fridge without it' kind of things :)
Water and ice dispenser (preferably plumbed) are on my 'must have' list for a fridge/freezer

    • +1

Presuming they use the same size water container in all three models of this fridge - in mine (the smallest model) the water container holds about 1-1.5 litres I reckon. The ice drawer holds maybe 1 or 2 x 4 litre ice cream containers worth of cubes. It says 25 to 27 litres (for all 3 models).

The water container just slides out easy, then you slide open the top, fill it and pop it back in the fridge. Dead easy and a lot simpler than a plumbed in one. Makes ice reasonably fast and even has an 'I'm having a party tonight - get making ice fast' mode.

    • +1

To add to all of the other responses here too - in ice cube terms, I think I've had over 100 ice cubes in the tray ready for use at a time (when it's full). I just move the ice around a bit so there's room for more ice to fall into (it won't make ice if it thinks the tray is full).

  • we bought this one in Mahogany color in march this year, made in japan, fantastic.

  • In this modern age, why don't they make a plumbed water model? I would prefer a fridge that have ice and water on demand with water plumbed directly into it.

    • I prefer the way they do it. You can easily install the fridge. Can fill it with filtered water (I have a filtered water tap on the sink). At most you'd have to fill the container once every day or two.

  • The electric discounter have the silver one for sale for $3,588.

    • That's the next size down, this post is for the 743L. I really want this and could probably convince the wife but can't get it delivered out locally. Looking at the L4 Grande 710L because it's more affordable. Would love the non-plumbed auto ice maker though.

      • You might be able to arrange your own courier, but would b expensive. Still worth it as this is a very good price. I'm in Tas and some shipping prices are in the $400 range!

  • I'm a noob when it comes to fridges so I went for a Samsung SRF583DLS 8806086423632 3 years ago for $1200 bucks when they had cashback and on special. My question is what makes the Mitsub worth the $3.5k asking price compared to the Euro brands?

    • For the size and features it's no more or less expensive than the competition. High end 700+ litre fridges are $3k+.

Ice, water, multi door, multi drawer, door in door, multi cooling zones, extra lighting etc etc. I think a Hisense of a similar style would be $2.5k and it's no comparison in finish.

Brilliant fridge, and easily the best price it's been in Oz to this point.

I bought it a few months back and have had it installed in our new house for about 6 weeks. Easily the best fridge I've owned.

Highlights - huge overall storage capacity and far narrower externally than the competition. Very thin walls mean the inside width is great. Great layout inside, and each of the zones can be programmed to different temps. We now don't freeze and defrost meat as it lasts well in the super cold drawer in the main compartment.

Whisper quiet, incredibly good on power usage (best in class?), ice maker is used every day and the resovoir is a good size.

If you've got the height available, this fridge can't be beaten. Just do it.

  • Can anyone that has one of these remember how much extra bulk the packaging added? Just trying to see if it will make it into the house… the doors are a bit skinny.. cheers

    • +1

Got one yesterday, unboxed it outside and it added bugger all .. top and bottom maybe a 4cm of foam but the sides only maybe 2cm of padding in a foam+cardboard sheet. I just unboxed it rocked it off the foam base and used one of the foam side sheets as padding between it and a trolley I used to get it inside / up the front steps, once inside I just used the rollers to maneuver it about.

  • It's big. Weighs in at about 150kg. We got it in a sliding door.

  • They offer delivery on their normal website for interstate, but they refuse to allow it for this sale. Do they really expect people to be able to bring this home in their SUVs? Things a beast.

    • Delivery to my location on their site is $533.50 so eats ionto any savings right there.

  • Great fridge! Would've gotten this larger version if it would've fit into our cabinet

  • Doesnt 3% = $100.776 ?

    • Nup. 3% of $4199 is $125.97

      • I've gone off the price in the title.

        • No, I'm pretty sure it's off the $4199 and that's what's on the receipt. eBay puts in the difference (beats me how they can afford to do it). The only thing I don't like about these 20% off deals ay eBay is it excludes the smaller sellers. Maybe eventually eBay will only be an outlet for the big stores.

Thanks for posting. I have just ordered one with delivery($40). Not sure why pick up only for your guys?

    • Maybe you're close enough to a Bing Lee for them to deliver? Lucky.

  • Boy, I just checked price of delivery if I bought it off the Bing Lee site - $741!

  • Bought one, got $40 delivery.. does anyone know how much it is to upgrade to premium delivery? (they take packaging and old fridge)

    • Fridge being delivered tomorrow… extra $20 to have them take the packaging and my old fridge…
