  • sounds stupid but why are there so many of these blenders up for sale all of a sudden everywhere? what do they do that other normal blenders dont do?

    • Buy one and find out yourself mate. I heard good reviews about this from people using it. It has 3 level blades which is something different than others. Giving it a go let see :)

      • i have a $99 dollar blender

so youre buying a 250 dollar blender because 'it has 3 blades' but you have no idea what it actually does different to a 20 dollar blender?

        cool story haha

      • I have a friend who just bought a $600 vitamix blender. Truly baffling. I don't understand how blenders can get so expensive.

      Exceedingly little.

Bought this one a couple of months ago, this is my first blender. If you're new to blending drinks like I am, these things are loud enough to wake the dead (extra feature?) - not specific to this model though, they're all really loud. Take this into consideration if you're planning on using these to make fresh breakfast smoothies (I have to make and refrigerate mine after I come home from work to avoid pissing off the neighbours in the early mornings).

I think the main benefit of blenders like these is the convenience of the portable bottles (500/650/900 ml). You pop in your ingredients into the bottles, screw on the blending lid & blend. When you're done, replace the blending lid with the drinking lid and you can take your drink to go. All lids and bottles are dishwasher safe (though i prefer to hand wash the blades to keep them sharper for longer).

    This blender costs more because:
    - 1500W motor - more power, so you get smoother drinks (no/less lumps) - I think this also gets me better results when I intentionally leave the skin of some fruits/veg on (i.e. nectarines, apples, etc).
    - more accessories - you get 3 bottles, a food processor, and a large blender jug
    - pre-programmed blending programs, press one button and it will run for ~ 1 minute at varying speeds on its own (whether you consider this a feature or gimmick, is up to you)

By the way, I do like my blender. It gets used nearly daily. I used to buy breakfast from my local cafe (sandwiches/baked goods), now I drink smoothies instead.
