Hi Guys and Girls,

I've been reading on here for a while and thought I might make this my first post.

JB HI FI in Highpoint (the store outside the shopping centre) are selling the Apple MacBook Pro 13" in a package deal. You can save up to $385. This deal was advertised a while ago but has since expired but last night the sales person offered me this deal as he said this was a continuing thing. What the Bundle included are as follows.

Deal 1:
- Apple Macbook Pro 13" 2.26ghz RRP: $1,599
- Apple care for macbook pro 13 RRP: $419
- MS Office For Mac H&S 2008 RRP: $229
- HP Photosmart Printer MFP RRP: $128
TOTAL: $2,375
YOU PAY: $1,991.00 saving $384

Deal 2:
- Apple Macbook Pro 13" 2.53ghz RRP: $1,999
- Apple care for macbook pro 13 RRP: $419
- MS Office For Mac H&S 2008 RRP: $229
- HP Photosmart Printer MFP RRP: $128

I don't know if this deal is Aus wide still but this store was defiantly offering this deal still. I don't remember the sales person but i got the deal 1 last night and thought it was an absolute ripper of a deal.

  • oops comparing wrong model

    • That is for the 13" Macbook not 13" Macbook Pro.

  • Ah… a good indication that places are starting to dump macbook pros out there before the refresh model comes out! woo!

    • It's not, trust me, stores find out at the same time as everyone else, and then they receive a massive price drop on the old models

      • Maybe not, but the grapevine is a marvellous thing and I'm sure all the stores are getting nervous waiting for an announcement. Never hurts to get the jump on your competition..

  • im pretty sure jb has had this deal before and some other stores as well but it may be that they're clearing stock for the new mbp?

  • Not a bad offer. If you were eligible for the Apple Back to Uni Promo, that's a better deal. But if you are in the market for the above, it's not too bad.

  • +1

I don't think its that good a deal really with the amount of extra, fairly expensive, items you have to add to qualify. I won't neg it because its not horrible….but I don't think its great either.

  • well forget buying all those extras..I am selling my brand new macbook in the box for $1200 RRP at $1300 and no one has replied to me yet.

  • Apple is still doing the $130 cashback on a printer if you buy it with a mac. If you don't need applecare/office you're better off buying direct. If you were planning on buying all that stuff anyway its a good deal.

  • All JBs are still doing this deal.

The deal is, Buy the Macbook and APP and you get office for free and a printer for free. If you ask nicely they will change the printer to a Magic Mouse instead.

This has nothing to do with a new models coming, Microsoft is offloading office 2008 as a new version is coming, giving huge rebates back to the companies, you can get office for free at Apple Store and Myer usually when you buy APP.
