Not anymore. Their android TVs are rather average when it comes to input lag. Unless that's just the 4k variety?
just to clarify, when you say input lag you aren't talking about the screens refresh rate right?
No input lag is how Long the picture takes from the device/console to the screen. Very important when gaming. They do not state specs of input lag. Only way is to test it with a lag tester. Google input lag
ok fair call. I see a lot of specs discussed and compared on ozbargain but I feel like input lag does not come up often. I know you said to google it but…is there seriously significantly variable lag over hdmi?
@hetzjagd: yes, some games like cod can be unplayable on some new large screens that have 100ms+ input lag.

How is this compare to the Sony KD55X8500C deal ($1473 - $110 cashback) that was around a few weeks ago?
they are two different Tv's, some people arent fussed wether its 4K or not as they do not have 4K content to play, i for example only use foxtel so the Full HD TV is good enough, and the fact its $500 cheaper is a bonus.
Is Foxtel HD really 1080p - i recall reading its only 720p…. and what about the standard Foxtel Box - is that like 560p or 1080i?
Foxtel HD is 1080i. ESPN is 720p.

not really.. after you take into account the 20% off - even on boxing day you are only risking another $50-100 discount if you are lucky. I would pull the trigger if you're in the market for this sort of tv

just for the sake of future proofing big purchases .. i think i'll wait till 4k screens drop in price instead. I've had my Panasonic for 6+ years now which i got when FHD was just starting .. :)
There's no such concept as future proofing in technology. You're only delaying the upgrade for 'x' amount of years before you get something faster and cheaper.

The NZ 1 day site often has the flexible wall mounts for around $25. Handy to extend off the wall and into the room for those christmas duets with kylie.

The 4K Sony 55" TV is way too glossy and reflective for me to be comfortable after buying it
Lag tests at 70ms not great. Panasonic is a better choice at 46ms
how do you know this? I read the lag for the Sony is much less?

Great TV. The Sony TV's also feature some of the best input lag response times for gaming. ;)
