Miele C3 Cat & Dog Vacuum Cleaner $423.20 @ The Good Guys eBay Store

100
CXMASTECH

For those sick of all the dusty Dyson deals, here's the mighty Miele we just bought.

This model comes with:
- Active (Charcoal) filter
- Mini/Hand Turbo Brush along with same Power-head as the "Turbo" model.

If adding the Bags MaxiPack, it comes to $487.16
The bags are a bonus offer at a few retailers including Harvey Norman, unfortunately TGG haven't made this offer available on their eBay Store.

With an extra 3% back from CashRewards ~$15.87 inc bags, this deal even beats the $50 AMEX offer from HN ($529-$50 = $479).

have this vacuum. Its bloody good. Beats my dyson
Because the suction is so strong, I have to turn the suction down to make it easier to vacuum. Otherwise it just grips the carpet…

    • +1

Great vacuum. Recommend getting a "Turbo Dust Interceptor" or its like from Godfreys to save you on bags. http://www.godfreys.com.au/turbo-dust-interceptor-1

    • Will also happily admit I own one too.

Housemate that left had a new Dyson and it was no where near as good as this.

      • Build quality is 110% better (Dyson obviously had stress points that, although pretty, couldn't even last a year without damaging itself)
      • suction is better
      • rolls on the floor round the house better

Miele C3 Cat & Dog Vacuum Cleaner

Does it include instructions on how to train your pet to use it?

    • +2

It's for vacuuming up cats&dogs [hair] jv, not for them to use it =)

      • How many cats and dogs fit in there?

      • Make sure you tie them to a tree first, or they'll get away. Especially the cats.

  • Damn, picked this up for 529 last week. Should have waited =/

  • Great find mate and really good timing too. I'm housesitting for my bro (who has a cat) and thought his vacuum cleaner was utter cr@p for not only picking up cat hair but just vacuuming in general. Even my $99 VAX does a better job.

Just purchased one of these and even printed out the bonus offer from TGG's website… will see if the store will either refund the cost of the maxipack or give me another one.

    • +2

The bonus offer seems to be available "from their website only". It's a little odd, because multiple retailers have this offer, so I'm assuming it's been set by Miele somewhere, and purchasing on eBay should really be no different to in store (aside from their seller fees).

      Fine Print from TGG:
Bonus Miele Maxipack GN Hyclean 3D Dustbags (must be added to cart) (03 November 2015 - 30 November 2015)

      Fine Print from Harvey Norman:
Promotion effective 2 November to 1 December 2015. Strictly while stocks last. Bonus box of Miele Maxipack vacuum dustbags (valued at $89) with the purchase of every Miele Complete C3 vacuum cleaner. Offer applies to new customer orders placed during promotional period.

Last Year's Promo was via redemption
Which would have been a lot easier for eBay purchases, because you usually get a merchant invoice too.

It's not going to hurt to ask them nicely in store, especially if you are picking it up =)

Other options: 1) Email Miele at the address in the PDF above or hunt them down on social media to let them know one of their authorised sellers (assumed) isn't playing ball with Miele's(?) current promotion. 2) Paypal dispute.

Thanks for the heads up mate.

Yeah, I chose to pick up and asked in store and the sweetie that served me gave me a second maxipack (since it's troublesome for them to do reimbursements on ebay sales). I was OK with this anyway.

Usual rules of course with any bargaining… go in prepared with details of the offer (they had a thing with the offer on their shelf as well), don't be hostile, and for guys, look for the female with the friendliest smile… chances are, they're a sweetie and easier to negotiate with.

Not that I had to try too hard… she knew of the offer and didn't think it was fair for me to not get it (and the fact that I had put a maxipack in my order on ebay showed that I had tried).

So the real winner out of all this… my bro. Not only does he have me housesitting for him but he's gonna come home to a clean apartment and a brand new vacuum cleaner too! The sweetie in store couldn't believe I was buying this for my bro either.

        • Sounds like YMMV.

Do you know her name? Which store did you go to?

        • I spoke to 3 reps including the manager at TGG chadstone and they all told me it was not valid on ebay, so I guess I won't be so lucky. Might actually pass and stick to the Dyson for a while longer.

      • I would like to know this too.

Since T&C states you have to add it to your cart, on ebay it means you have to pay for the bags too..

If you ask in store why the bags weren't free, they'll be perfectly justified in saying.. but you saw the price reflected and proceeded to finalize the sale, meaning you accepted that price. What do you want? Their T&C didn't say it was valid for the ebay site.

        • The mount gravatt store added it to my invoice for free without me having to ask. I was ready to argue :)

If you want to complain then refer to their catalogue called "portables" on their website which lists the bonus but just states that you have to "buy it online" and you pick up the bonus from the point of sale. Doesn't say that you have to add to cart etc just "online".

        • @leyton01: Wait, so when you placed the order on ebay, you didn't add the bags to the order?

        • @lostn:
No. It was magically there on the receipt for $0. They just did it anyway as a bonus. I was going to argue for it based on the catalogue offer but didn't need to.

  • Hi Guys,
Trying to buy a vaccum cleaner for my house with timber/carpet and no pets.
Thinking of Electrolux zuf4201OR / Miele C3 family allrounder / Dyson 54 allergy model. Unable to finalise. Any suggestions on one of these. I am fine with either bagless/bag.

    • In order of likely performance:

      1. Miele
      2. Electrolux (claimed)
      3. Dyson

Dyson may require less maintenance. Electrolux claims to be quieter than Dyson.

I preferred bagless so I got the dyson. Didn't want to pay for bags.

      I was wrong. So wrong.

Get one with bags. It's more cleaner and easier to dispose of the dust.

  • I ended up getting one of these C3 C&Ds. I think something is seriously wrong with my unit somehow. Brand new, before I even finished vacuuming one room, the bag indicator was red/orange already! It did pick up a LOT of dust, but there's no way it could have filled up the whole bag after one use… is there?

The indicator is only red when it's powered on. When it's off, it's blank. I am using the Turbo powerhead if that matters.

Very good unit otherwise. It's powerful and picks up a lot of dust. You can hear it all clanking its way up the hose.

Either the indicator is stuffed, or the starter bag is like a starter toner cartridge — very small, unlike the replacements you buy. There's no way I want to be replacing the bag this often.

Another thing, can you buy bag packs without filters? Or bags with HEPA/Charcoal filters instead of the standard filter? If I'm going to own a more expensive model with a better filter and I buy more of those filters, then the standard ones that come with the bag packs are redundant and I'm paying for nothing.

    • hey lostn - don't worry, i had the same problem as you!
apparently this is a known issue with the unit when using the turbo head for some unknown reason. what the miele rep advised was to ignore the dust indicator and go by what it says when you attached the regular head - you should now see the indicator doesn't light up.
      hope this helps.
