    Life is Strange(store.steampowered.com) 50% off - $2.49 USD

Note that this is only for episode 1. The whole season is $13.39 USD.

    • +1

Yeah, I found the way they advertise it on the front page to be somewhat… misleading. Banner images don't mention Episode 1 anywhere that I can see. You only find out the $2.49 is just for Ep 1 when you click through to the actual store page.

    • +2

Yeah I jumped in my seat when I saw it for $2.50. But it's just ep 1.

I will wait for the inevitable Humble Bundle.

  • I believe this is how Black Friday sales have been on Steam, no Flash Sales, unlike the usual 6 monthly ones…. could be wrong.

    • +4

Nope. This is a new system, Valve announced this to Dev earlier…. unlikely to have flash or daily sales Xmas time either. So, if you want the game at the current price, go for it. It won't get cheaper

  • Some decent deals here but might be worth waiting till steam winter sale if you aren't in a rush to pick up some titles. From experience the discounts do increase during the main 2 sales.

    • You're probably right but at 67% off for many new titles I wouldn't expect much more of a discount, very rarely do you see more than 75%. I think 80% off is the lowest I've seen the oldest titles.

  • Euro Truck Simulator 2 - Scandinavia [DLC] $9.49 USD (50% off)

    • You reckon it will go cheaper for Christmas sale? Was thinking about buying this.

      • I personally wouldn't expect it to. This DLC is now ETS2's cash cow, as the main game and 1st exp pack is now dirt cheap. If they do, so be it, but wouldn't be more than a couple of dollars difference in the end… AUD might go down even further to add to the pain also

  • +2

Wow that's a great price on Elite.

    • i was keen to get it when it first released. Now i'm not sure what dlc or extra money I have to spend to get the full feature set, i don't wanna be enjoying the game only to be left wanting more in the form of microtransactions

      • DLC is only cosmetic, you can preorder the expansion right now but you could always wait for it to go on sale eventually. The game at the moment is the "full feature set"

        • Hmmm… this game seems intriguing… I don't see any DLCs to it tho… Is it pay to win?

        • +3

@ProjectZero: I've played it. It's not pay to win; you can't buy in game credits or unique ships. However, the model makes it FEEL like it is pay to win, with an INCREDIBLY SLOW progression. And then, once you get to late/mid game and have a reasonably powerful ship, you will unfortunately realize the hard truth; There will be no endgame like WoW or Eve Online. There are not going to be many amazing high intensity space shootouts with dozens of real players fighting for actual in game territory. Just a bunch of people flying back and forth doing their own thing.

Overall, I would boil 47 hours of my actual time with this game to be about 4 that were actually interesting; which would be 50 minutes of excitement each time I got a new ship. And that's another point; at time of posting, the ship selection is very small and unvaried; there is one overall best ship in the game, the Anaconda, so everyone who's wasted enough of their life to get to this point will all be flying the same ship. The devs have said this is going to change…. In the future.

I would probably recommend it for 15 bucks, but know that, over time, it starts to dawn on you that your work won't actually yield the fruit you think it will.

          The deathmatches are okay.

        • @FrankMcFuzz: Thanks for the honest review. A lot of people unnecessarily hype games up because they feel the need to defend their purchase.

        • @FrankMcFuzz: Cheers mate, guess I'll hold off on it… have some other games to occupy my time recently =)

    • I read somewhere that there is an expansion coming out soon that will include the base game. Not sure how true that is as I haven't followed the game at all, but I remember seeing someone write that

  • my wait for terraria to go on sale is finally over!!!! :)

If you look hard enough you might still be able to unpack 4packs from sellers for free.

      • happy to pay the discounted 4 pack price….. it's basically 4 for the price of 1 and i can feel generous giving some away to friends ;)

  • Kinda disappointed life is strange never go low price anymore because of the upcoming physical release. I mean 33% off? Even telltale can do better than that.

  • Your list stops at T! What about those fantastic games with letters from U-Z?

    • Feel free to add the 8000 or so :)

  • LISA has been $2.99 before. Not the best price.

  • +2

I checked and Elite: Dangerous have a sale at their own website. I bought directly from them, cost me 40 cents more but the money goes to the developers not Steam and the developers.

  • In case you want the full sales list: https://steamdb.info/sales/

Fallout NV ultimate available for AU$5.40 from gameplanet.de FYI

Cities Skylines is awesome if you love Simcity games.

    • +1

      bought thanks mate

  • CS:GO is also half price again.

Anyone with even a passing interest in cheap Steam games should try out Enhanced Steam - which gives you price histories for all games across a range of resellers - or check out Is There Any Deal - which lets you set up wishlists, and delivers email alerts if a wishlisted game drops below the price you set. It takes a lot of the effort out of trawling through 8000-odd titles come sale time, and gives you a tidy heads up when they're doing 8 hour flash sales - provided you know what you want, and how much you're willing to pay for it.

Case in point. Was just about to buy Borderlands 2 GOTY for $17 on Steam but Enhanced Steam told me I could get it for $8.79 elsewhere.
