Hi All

Final Fantasy XIII is soon to be released and this is the cheapest PS3 pre-order which I have found (by upward of $50 AUD from some Australian retailers).

This is the PAL UK version which will play fine in Australian PS3's and item comes with free worldwide delivery.

The listed price is £31.99 but for some reason when I paid with PayPal the cost went down to £27.23 which made the final cost under $50 delivered. Either way, it is still much cheaper than Australian pre-orders.

For those who like to play a game on the release date, I could not find details on when the item will be shipped (i.e. on release day or before) but for myself, I know I don't really mind when it arrives for the price I paid.

***** EDIT - As 'Marlboro Man' pointed out, shipments to Australia do not have VAT added and as such, the final cost is under AUD$50 (depending on exchange rate at time of purchase of course).

    The 31.99 GBP would include VAT and so when you select an overseas delivery address they take off the tax. It's good that they do as a lot of stores don't bother, when really they should.

        Where did I say movies were? We are discussing a game, I thought it was implied. And just cause it's PAL doesn't mean places will accept it as trade, it will still have UK classification on the cover rather than our G,PG,M,MA.

      That's true, but sometimes downloaded content does not work on NTSC games on a PAL system. I prefer to get PAL just incase I ever decide to download stuff :)

        DLC is region locked as opposed to being a PAL / NTSC display issue.

        Australia is (very very strangely) part of SCEEurope, as opposed to SCEAsia, which whould make more sense.

    This is a great deal but I know come 9th March ill be wishing I hadnt ordered online as I cant wait to play this one. I buy most of my games from the UK and shipping is normally 7-14 business days (the site says 1 to 5 working days but I doubt that), dont think I can wait. Great find tho!!

      For that reason, i've got the collectors edition on pre-order at jb hifi.
      For the extra $ it costs over the local standard edition I'd say the local collectors edition looks worth it. Only money after all. :)
      However for those on a budget or don't worry about playing it a week after release then this is a great deal, as most imports are if you shop around a bit. :)

      No, it will work. Only US and other regions won't work.
      UK dlc is the same as Aus Dlc

      I have a feeling that different publishers have different deals with different retailers about where they can sell to. Amazon, for example, won't ship games to Australia.

            @whichtyler: I ordered both at once for 55.31GBP (about $98). It seems that it won't let you order GOW3 on its own? Hopefully they honor this 'glitch' in their system and still send out both games. Great deal, particularly if they do send out both.

    An excellent find :) I usually buy from CDWOW (yes I've heard of their slow delivery and it has never affected me) and dvd.co.uk as they tend to have cheap prices.

    Too bad they don't have Heavy Rain :( Gonna pick up GOW3 + FF13!

        www.cdwow.com.au had it for $66.56 a week ago but they raised it to $70.16.

        Everyone here and on ecogamer.com says to be wary of CDWOW. They usually take a while to deliver since they have inventory issues (supposedly). I've made 10 orders from them, most of them pre-orders and all pre-orders arrived a week after release date (1 was a week and a half).

      CDWow gets similar complaints too. I guess as long as I get the item at the end of the day, I'm happy.

      Hopefully the wait isn't too long. Like the guy above said, the complainers in society are usually minority - the happy consumer is usually always part of the silent majority. Fingers crossed it's true for this site. I know I never give positive reviews for shops lol

      Looks like the verdicts in.
      I personally grabbed the collectors edition from jb.
      I couldn't imagine ordering this game, expecting it close to release date, then told you'll have to wait till we get more stock in at the end of the month (which will mean a mid April arrival). I'll be finished the 80hr+ game before the game even arrives to those that ordered.

    No doubt it will take sometime to get here posting from UK. Even play-asia took 25+ days to get to me with another game in stock. CDWOW even worse 36+ days.

    I would rather buy from a retail store get it posted to me asap.

    Given that it's now sold out, they probably had a certain amount of stock allocated. They shouldn't overcater here

      I would be concerned with this. I would bet thier website doesn't show live stock and now they have a crap load of order to fill. I do hope everyone who ordered get ones but don't hold your breath guys. Let us know who you all go.

    Thought I'd let people know that I emailed them to see when it would be shipped and they said it will be shipped prior to release date and should hopefully arrive around the stated release date.

      Yeah, retail outlets usually receive the games a couple of days early for that fact (posting, prepairing for sale) although I think that shipping time would only cater for local orders ie. UK.

      That's usually why street dates are implemented. If retailers sell the game early and a street date was implemented, they are usually in shit. After a street dare has been broken though it's usually a free for all after that. :)

    just sent an enquiry on the game last night and this is what i got

    The order has not left as we oversold and we sent a email to confirm that the next batch will be 28th march 2010 please let us now so we can either refund or keepthe order as backorder.

    cant decide whether if i should ditch the order or just wait, it would still be cheaper keeping this order 3 weeks from now than spending probably the extra 30 odd dollars to get it in the stores :/

    On Tuesday (their time, Wednesday 4am our time) received an email from them saying my order had shipped and will take 3-5 business days to reach Australia. So they did have some, just not enough…

    Seeings that it sold out so long ago, you would have thought they could of ordered more prior to the release date to fulfill all the pre-orders they had…

    What a bunch of bull. Ordered on 11/02 for both Xiii and GOW3, Order was stuck in 'Pending' as Im assuming it will be converted to Shipped once GOW has passed its released date. A week later no word whats so ever, a quick email to prod them to see if Order has been shipped, got an email 'Order not shipped cuz missing CC details, was your CC Charged??'. I replied 'No it hasnt because both orders haven't been fullfilled'. Next I got this email:

    Date Ordered: Thursday 11 February, 2010
    The comments for your order are: Hi, We have cancelled the order as supply is going to take long time to come back in stock , no payment has been made for the order , kind regards

    Just WOW. Waited 1 1/2 months for them to ship it and now its cancelled. Will NEVER EVER BUY FROM THEM EVER. For those who got theirs, congrats for others, dont bother. Dodgy Company.

    Same problem here, had my money refunded to me last night.

    Tried contacting these clowns for 2 weeks before I heard a reply that they had sent my game already and that it may have been 'lost in the mail'. They said if it had not arrived by a certain date then I should contact them again and they would send out another copy. Lo and behold the date elapsed so I contacted them multiple times to no avail. Then all of a sudden a full refund is issued back to me.

    Avoid this mob at all costs. One of the worst online stores I've dealt with in recent history.

    Well, i've just got an email saying mines cancelled (which is ok, i asked for it to be), but i didn't get any corresponding email to say i'd been refunded. Since i've got my Paypal set up through bank account, means i should have - at least, i have with every other cancellation/reversed transaction - got the money back (and an email to say it was back) at the time of cancellation.

    Which makes me wonder what they've done with my ~$50… Is their cancellation some kind of 'two steps' system and it's still coming, but with a lag? Have sent them an email asking what exactly is going on - explaining it's been cancelled, but seemingly not refunded. If i can't get any love there, i'll go through Paypal Disputes - though since that's supposed to be within 45 days of payment, i think i'm just outside that with their delays… Which would be convenient for them… Better not be bloody dodgy.

          Just got it. So took them a couple of emails to get the cancel, and then two days to get the refund through once the cancel confirmation had gone through.

          Not too bad, really, but was more worried i'd not get the money back on account of their lack of a response to my first email - didn't leave a good taste that.

        Or you can just go ebay and grab from there for a few dollars more… typically in the range of around 50-70. If you're patient enough, around the 50-60 region.

        Definitely not from the retail shops as Australia is still a rip off for console games.

      YES I CAN. I can blame them for the opportunity cost of missing the limited edn, the weeks of lost launch-time gaming, the fact that they didn't tell me about overselling UNTIL I asked them wtf was going on, and the fact they didn't refund me until I actually pointed it out (despite canceling weeks ago, I had to send a separate email to remind them to actually REFUND). I might as well blame them for the lost $3.91 as well.

    I cancelled and lost $10 due to exchange. Sent them an email and I simply got a reply "hi, Ref your email we still have delay." The bloody email referred to a delay months ago and indicated new stock came in last month — such useless correspondence.
