was looking to buy some on the
weekendStill can't believe how cheap 25kg of pool salt is. Not complaining though.
Cheap weed killer. Dissolve a few scoops in water/spray bottle and this is also good for killing weeds & grass & plants and small trees… with 25kg of salt you can create a desert in your own back yard.
… and your neighbour's yard when it reaches the groundwater.
I will drop by Masters to buy that rather than bunnings. Good to ramp up bunnings competition.
How does this taste?
Salty
shows as $6.90 each at Morayfield
Starts Thursday
cheap table salt
Good for keeping out demons
Anyone tried the Masters/Bunnings Sunray pool salt? I have read some negative feed back on whirlpool. Besides the salt dissolving slower due to the granules not being fine, any other negatives? I would like to give it a go, it's less than half the price of the stuff they sell at pool mart.
Since pool shops inflated the price and reduced the size by 20% I started using Sunray.
Have not noticed any ill effects in many years of use, but I guess it depends on the chemistry of your pool when you add it and how much you add at a time.
Woolworths branded salt left stains since it has a lower purity. Stains were from iron based contaminants and left a rust coloured streak on the poolwall.
YMMVI've checked into this. Turns out you only need a tiny amount of salt for the chlorinator to function. Is there any benefit to dumping huge bags of salt into your pool, or is it just the pool industry just doing the usual trick of selling stuff you don't need?
Use test strips to determine the quanity required or swimmart do free testing if you have one close.
The bag is not so huge when you consider the pool is huge at 40 000L or so
Usually dump 10 bags in summer and another couple over the year. My chlorinator states that it is most efficient at 6000 something units and I try to keep it at that level. Cheaper than having the salt level low and having to run the chlorinator for longer.
Thanks for the downvote pal, have fun keeping your pool at "6000 something units".
@LoopyLou: I didn't down vote you. What you talkin about?
That's be 6PPM.
Yes, many chlorinators specify that level and other specify less.
Always adhere to chlorinator makers specs regardless of what others say.
it show 6.90 each. and 13.80 for two.
Starts Thursday.
How does this compare with bath salts?
