What's the current cheapest android based phone for use with Aldi?
I'd prefer to not have to bother with unlock, but will if we have to.
I'm looking to get one for a younger family member.

$29 for a telstra tempo at Aus Post
Both that one and jonsnow's are on Telstra network (which is same as Aldi) so won't need unlock codes. An unlock code for the Tempo is $1.99 on ebay
Lately, Telstra pre-paid phones are not working with Aldi SIMs unless they are unlocked, due to Aldi being on the Telstra Wholesale network. Lots of discussion about it on Whirlpool.
$9 android phones at Dick Smith. They are on Telstra, but you can unlock as discussed by another commenter.
I couldn't see any $9 Androids, only feature phones - could you confirm please. Thanks!

Much cheaper to buy a locked phone and unlock for $6.
