Nice Looking (Pink White etc.) Noise Cancelling Headphones for Ladies?

Hi All,

Wife has requested a pair of "Nice looking" (i.e. pink or white rather than black or dull colours ) noise cancelling headphones (wired). Preferably foldable or easy to carry.

I have put it off for too long as the value-for-moneys I have found are blacks..

So now seeking your recommendations. Many Thanks!

Noise cancelling is tricky. I believe there are only 2 real choices for noise cancelling. Perhaps even only one.

Best performing are Bose QC25. They're big, but surprisingly light, and fold into a carry case. Available in white.

Also the Bose QC20's. They're earphones. Available in white. Obviously very small. Performance isn't as good as the big cans.

Expect to pay around $350 for either of these.

Bose really have a monopoly on noice cancelling tech, everything else I've tried pales in comparison, including the Sonys at similar price point. If you're not wanting to pay this much you may wish to consider noise isolation rather than cancelling, the others aren't worth it IMO. Value for money doesn't necessarily mean cheap.

Thanks Jon, as long as they worth it, I am willing to pay top-dollar for my wife as listening (music, audio books) is a big part of her life.

Where would you recommend buying them from?

Have not heard about Noise isolation, what ones can I consider, how inferior compared to noise canceling?

    • JB Hifi list them at $399 but should sell for $350 if you ask nicely.

Plenty of reputable Ebay sellers in Australia, authorised dealers, sell for $351, e.g.:
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BOSE-QC25-Quiet-Comfort-Noise-Can…

There are different models available for Apple/Android, headphones are the same, cable is different. If you got the wrong one it would still play, but the remote control buttons for volume etc won't be compatible, so make sure you get the right one.

Noise isolation just means having a good seal to reduce hearing outside noise, unlike cancelling there is no fancy technology that actively cancels out the noise.

  • Thanks guys.
