  • I need one for my camera..

    Anyone find anything else cheaper?

    • I picked up a couple of these from Officeworks via their Price Match policy. After the 5% discount it comes to $12.30

  • ALDI have one for the same price - if you need one today. Not Sandisk brand though.

  • These are Category 2 class cards, so not that fast, and you will probably want something faster if you are using it in a camera. I saw at Harvey Norman Category 4 cards for the same price (Verbatim & Lexar brand).

I generally use Category 6 cards for my camera.

    • +1

I've noticed sandisk often put their cards in a lower category for some reason. ie Give a card that easily meets class 4 specs a Class 2 sticker. Not sure why they do this.

      • Probably because it's cheaper to pump out x number of cards, rate them by speed and then sell the fastest ones for big bucks and everything else for less. If they produce more class 4 cards than they can sell, it makes sense to sell them as class 2 rather than turf them or drop the price on the class 4 cards.

Sandisk really loves to charge big for their flashier cards…

    • Sandisk cards will usually work in devices that are touchy, though, so if you're using it with a picky device then it might be worth the lower speed, especially since this includes free delivery.

For most applications Cat 2 cards are more than adequate (MP3 players, non-rapid-fire still photos, game consoles, occasional data storage for laptops/netbooks/desktops with a card reader, etc.)

Obviously not well-suited for DSLRs or stuff like that.

  • Need micro SD

    • Focal Price is always good for things like that. $12.95 for 4gb Kingston (shipping is included).

I've bought from them before and the goods arrive pretty quickly (3-4 days to Brisbane), considering they come from HK
