Wonder if this will be another "sorry, out of stock, we'll refund you in a month" Dick deals?

Wow is dick really that much of a dick?!

I bought 2 of each disinfectant+window cleaner+dishwashing liquid from officeworks for $5 per 5L bottle.
Some of you may remember from a previous clearance sale they had.

After over a month of waiting i finally hear from officeworks and they end up sending me a different brand which is apparently $15 more expensive than the one i ordered… How good is that!!

I got burnt after buying 2 dab radios from Dicks last week at $12 a piece during click frenzy. I got a Dear John letter saying that it wasn't me, it was them who made a price error. They refunded my money & hoped we could still be friends.

These things cost them only 10c or something similar. Even at 3$ for 2 M they are making bit of money :p or margin is good. DSE should have ample in stock.

    • +6

to be honest, i doubt that it cost them only 10c..

I can make them in the shed at home for about 45c-60c if the materials are bought in mass bulk. I doubt these guys buy them for anywhere near 10c though. The plastic wrapping they are sealed in would be worth more than that alone easily.

      • +1

Im sure you can make them. But good luck finding someone wanting to buy your hand made, shed made extension cord.

if he is an electrician i don't see the problem

I love when people talk with perfect authority on something they obviously know sweet f*** all about.

      • Sorry, No more details can be provided. I will get in trouble 😬

I've been looking for extension leads, I bought mine at reject shop for only a fraction more, but it's everyday price. 5m for $5 and 10m for $8! Always stock, no need to click and collect and dick around.

  • At these prices I wouldn't stock up, but if you need one then that is competitive.

If looking for a good heavy duty lead can't go past k-mart Arlec 25m for about $18. Red and blue colour. Much heavier than a Chevron 20M blue yellow which are $28ish.

    Cheaper than Masters/Bunnings equivalents.

    Arlec 2m $2.50 at Bunnings

Not long enough to hang myself.
    No deal

    • If u just hang in there it should do the trick….besides its not about how long it is, its about how you use it

    • why do you need it to be long enough to hang yourself? Wouldn't it be easier to just plug into a live socket and a fork into it, you can do it in lesser than 5mins, no struggle, and lesser time to having last minute regret..

        RCD keeps tripping

        • oh yea!! no wonder….

      • Tried that once. Didn't take

    • Youre better off slowly breathing in helium.

  • how much are the kmart ones?

    • Should be cheeper

    This bargain is shocking.

Ordered after you'd posted the deal and picked it up in store an hour later. cheers! :)

BTW, the 2/3/5m cables have been just under $2.6/3/4 respectively in the past, during various Dick Smith "sales" (I have them listed in my wishlist).

    • Very true, but same as everything it's what is a good price at the time. Dicks prices fluctuate so much, like a rollercoaster, some dips lower than others, but that's not saying that some dips still aren't a bargain :)

But 100% know what you're saying. Almost need a Camelx3 for Dick to properly get an idea :)

Camelx3 for the DS Online would be awesome! Would be handy to know what to buy and when to buy!

If I want a wall mount for my TV, I could choose to:
        - Pay $69 in-store or,
        - Use my staff card and get the mount for $62 or,
        - Buy it online and pick it up in my store for $19.47

There is a local camelx3 it's called price hipster it's only been around for about three months so needs a bit more time to get the historical prices

        • +1

          Thanks for that! Bookmarked!

        • Hi. Actually it's been around for nearly 5 weeks, but it has price data for Dick Smith for over 6 months. It's just that the graph currently only shows 3 months worth. Increasing that is something I'll look into in the future. :-)

  • I just happen to need some almost got today but did not have chance,in past i have got ones ftom reject shop but was while ago so cant remember price or brand would these be better and cheaper as can order for click and collect

  • When you click on deal it says temp out of stock

  • I've been following a TDK clock radio on Dick Smith, TDK Dual Alarm Clock Radio TCC3310MG, it fluctuates between about $15.00 and $35.00 but every time it's "on sale" it's out of stock at any DSE stores nearby.
