Skinless Chicken Thigh Fillets 50% off @ Coles George St, Sydney ($2.99)

370

Long time browser, first time poster. I bought some chicken thighs from Coles on George St, Sydney that were advertised as $6.00/kg but printed at $2.99/kg. Not sure if this was a one off glitch but its definitely worth a try if anyone needs/wants skinless chicken thigh.

  • i'd say its a pricing error, i could buy and re-sell at my butcher shop and still make nice profit at that price

Even at $5.98 it's a good price… I'd be worried about the u/b date with chicken this cheap though

    Reproduced at other locations?

ehhhhhh… Chicken breast ($9/kg) is cheaper than thigh ($10/kg) at my coles….. WTH!

    • They must be breast men at your Coles.

    • Thighs are usually more expensive than breast

When did this become normal??? I use to buy thighs because it was cheaper and tasted better! but now I'm torn between a foodie and a oz-bargainer…

        • I reckon in the last 2 years has been the same for skinless breast and skinless/bones thigh. Except at Coles (Vic), now bulk breast is a bargain $9/kg, and thigh is a whopping $13/kg. meat is expensive in Vic compared to other states…

Thigh taste better cos its juicier.
Breast is healthier because it is leaner.
I choose breast otherwise I have to buy larger size slazenger shirts from sportsdirect. :)

      • Not thighs with the bone in though

You pay for the bones then…

  • is this coles central near apple store or coles world square? I'll head in to try my luck :)

$5kg at Coles Ingle Farm in Adelaide

      That's two states away…

  • Are they halal?

    • Doubt it. Why would they spend extra on halal certification for a really popular product like this, when really it is a niche market that wants it? They'd have to pass the cost on to consumers.

I'm sure there is halal chicken available elsewhere, though.

    • They'd better not be.
