Wireless Sound System for around Pool

Hello all sorry if this is not the correct place for this question. I have been asked to look into a solution for listening to music around the pool for an Xmas gift.

After doing a bit of research I have been unable to find something that fits what is required and instead everything seems to be a built in speaker type solution.

What I am looking for is pretty much a stereo with usb / auxiliary and the ability to have 2 wireless speakers connected to it.

The idea is to have a phone or usb hooked in and be able to listen to music with one speaker up one end of the pool and another down the other end.

Any help on what I should be looking for or anything links would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

tbh i'm glad im not your neighbour

    • Person receiving the gift lives on land so has no close neighbours. So not really relevant.

I've looked into this a number of times - honestly it doesn't exist - not for any speakers worth a bar of soap.

At my last place, we ended up installing waterproof speakers (wired) on posts on the other side of the pool (focused inwards towards the house), and buried the speaker wire, up to an amp (with bluetooth built in) in, installed in dry area. Not clean - but definitely the way to get the best sound - and can be done relatively cheaply too.

I was afraid that might be the case. I might do the same as the theatre room in close to the pool and has a multi-zone amp that I could use to run their music. Will just have to convince them to trench in a bit of wiring.

      Thanks for the help.

      • This is the best idea. I recommend the Yamaha outdoor speakers however you might need a professional to install the wiring.

I have no idea why my original comment was unpublished but I'll link you to the articles I found last night

  • We use Sonos system - with a Play 5 in the house, and a Play 1 which we move out to next to the pool, streams the music, and can use an aux on the Play5.

Its not waterproof, so care it does';t get wet, but the sound quality is good and has a good range .
