Hi Forum,
I am trying to look for a cheap but decent DVD player. I am searching one for someone else and she only want it to play DVD basically. Her last DVD player which is DL brand(??? no idea what brand it is, but cost 79 bucks back in 2003) just died on her. So she wants one that will probably work for the same amount of life time with a reasonable price (<100)
My question here is… do u think those dvd players in sam's warehouse etc etc will last that long…
Thanks~
Personally I think 'decent' for a DVD player is a bit open to interpretation as I would think all DVD players from $30-$300 wouldn't have a lot of variation in features and should be quite decent as far as playing DVDs and the number of years they will endure for, and it would be hard to find one without a warranty.
Anyway, I'm guessing DivX, surround sound or HDMI isn't important in this case?
As an example there's one for $48 from COTD right now with USB, MP3 and DivX… but its remote does seem a little tacky in appearance.

If you're happy with a $40 one then these should work well:
