  • Why couldn't it come with an AINOL code

    • EB—-> Everbuying ANL—-> Ainol

    Ainol Windows 8.1

    How is that pronounced ?

  • So what can I deduce from this?

"the works before standby can be went on, easy to achieve mobile office."

    Is this good or bad?

    • +1

My interpretation of that is this
"What you were working on before putting the computer into standby mode can be continued(when you resume the computer), great use for a portable office computer"

  • This will go well with my doogee f3 phone

  • Can it run 64 bit?

    • the instruction set on the processor is 64bit so it should be capable.

      http://ark.intel.com/products/80274/Intel-Atom-Processor-Z37…

      • Not necessarily. If the UEFI firmware is 32-bit (and doesn't provide an option for legacy BIOS boot - common on tablets) then you can't directly boot into a 64-bit OS. As I understand it, very recent Linux kernels work around that, and you could probably chainload from Linux into Windows, but Windows can't do it natively.

        • Oh that must be why. I've been trying to install 64-bit windows using USB but every time I try to force boot, the screen turns black for a second and it goes back to bios.

  • My question would be. Is everbuying affiliated with gearbust?

    • What do you mean by gearbust? i am assuming you mean gearbest? did they go bust (or doing bust?)

    • +1

They're both HiChina Zhicheng Technology Ltd according to whois…

  • Thats pretty impressive, better value then those 150 dollar intel win8 sticks selling at pccasegear and other places

  • how do you connect to your monitor? only HDMI?

  • Can this be hackintoshed?

    • I'd like to know this too. Not hopeful that it can though.

  • All these kind of PCs seem to only have 2Gb ram which I find isn't enough, I was going to try and use a similar PC just for web browsing and leave my main turned off but the "slowness" put me off (I have a PiPo X8 and the toshiba encore).

  • I've never looked into any of this. Can you install windows 10 on it?

    • should be able to…lots of tablets running that same chipset is on w10

    • Under Notes section on linked page:
      - Currently, the Ainol only works with Windows 8 OS and it is not available for updating to Windows 10 OS privately. We will giving a further notice when the Windows 10 OS becomes more stable. We are sincerely sorry for any inconvenience caused.

      • I'm sure my similarly spec'd Chuwi Hi8 said the same thing, but it updated itself to Win10 just fine so who knows.

    • but these things do run a bit slow ….. so just use a browser to do your banking or VLC to watch a move, but don't try to run both at the same time.

I use these little devices as media players, netflix, and low power consumption torrent clients . I have a pipo x7s and pipo x8, which upgraded to windows 10 fine.

much better and more flexible than a stick device for a TV, but doesn't replace a PC due to limited RAM, etc.

    • +1

Yes you can. I have one and upgraded to win 10. Works well. Main issue was that it updated in Mandarin and was bloody hard work to get back to English but fine now.

  • Could this be used with a car PC and also hash cam? The inbuilt battery could help when the car is off!

  • What can be done with one of these?

    • use it as a torrent client, they are low power so you can leave then running as long as you like with minimal carbon foot print / power bill. Also great as TV media players, and as a netflix box or iview player, for four TV.

  • the AU Plug is running out of stock.. have to find elsewhere then..

  • +1

bought one of these from gb last time, couldn't get it to charge with the wall charger. used a different charger/adaptor etc. using it as a paperweight on my desk atm :(

  • I've got one of these. They actually work quite well. Boots up in < 30 seconds. Throw in a 64GB microsd for extra storage

Plays video files well. Would be a good little HTPC or kids PC

Upgraded to windows 10 with no issues

  • Does it output to 1080p screen? Thanks.

  • Anyone tried foxtel go on one of these?

  • Because of factory product upgrade, now the product upgrades from previous 2 x 2.0 USB, 1 x 3.0 USB to 2 x USB, 1 x Micro USB slots , CPU upgrades to: Intel Z3735F.

USb-2 to USB-3 sounds like a downgrade to me.

  • I have one, works well as a spare computer - youtube is fine up to 720p - but not at 1080p.
The wireless does not work very well if you are in another room to your AP.
Have not been able to get it to work with Linux.
