      • Typical HN. You would think there was plenty of stock if they were taking out a nation wide newspaper advertisement.

        • I'm actually hoping there will be stock and the sales assistant was not releasing the information for stock until tomorrow.

  • surprisingly the online price for 1200d is 478$…
    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/canon-1200d-dslr-camera-with-…

  • How's the HTC Desire 820?

    • terrible screen, 5.5" but only 720p. I'm guessing it's aimed at teenagers because it was cheap on plans and has a "selfie" camera.

it was only a midrange phone to begin with and now it's a year old, so it's middling in all regards. I'd look for a G4 or higher end chinese handset for the price.

      • I think you meant G3? G4 is quite a bit more expensive than that.

  • For those who dont want to travel long to HN and/or get disappointed with no stock
    https://www.techrific.com.au/sony-alpha-a6000-kit-16-50mm-le…

    • Thanks. Aren't the ones at techrific grey imports and therefore will not get the $150 cashback?

      • +1

Probably. Not too sure. Also the shipping is killing. so ignore (should have checked shipping costs, my bad)

  • Garmin vivofit 2 $96, OW had the same price.

  • Thanks OP! Ordered an a6000 for pickup as the clock hit midnight AEDT lol 3 stores in Brisbane north had the kit in stock according to the website.

  • Thanks Fluffy, I wasn't bothering yet till I saw your comment as it still showed ~1200. Didn't realize the discounted price doesn't show until you added to cart

    but anyway..

    "your order is being reviewed"

Why is my order being reviewed?

We endeavour to provide a safe online environment for our customers by implementing routine checks for orders. This is to ensure that no purchase is made without the card holder's authorisation.

This review may take up to 24 hours. Please note, orders placed outside of business hours may not be processed until the next business day.

wtf is this crap? It'll be out of stock by that time

    • I got the same email a few minutes ago. I'm going to get to the store at opening time tomorrow and just purchase in store and cancel the online order.

    • Got this email after the email that said your order is being reviewed.
      Thanks for your order, xxx!
Your tax invoice will be emailed separately.
Does that mean my order is confirmed ? Or should I go to pick it up myself, I paid for home delivery though

  • Thanks, got one for pick up. :)

  • Seriously considering the canon to upgrade my 1000d.

I'm only a mum photographer and if I'm honest am yet to master the camera that I've got.

But ideally would like to dabble in some night sky photography, amongst regular holidays pics/the kids etc.

There is a 24mm canon lens but doesn't appear to be online on Harvey Norman website.

Am thinking I buy the new body, keep the IS Kit lenses and my nifty fifty, and sell the 1000d with basic kit lens.
A new lens has been on the radar for a while anyway.

But as always wondering if any one has any experience? Not overly fussed by video, but would definitely like a higher iSo capability. Would love opinions if anyone has any.

    • It's the era of Sony mirrorless, get the A6000 16-50mm kit, you can shoot stars too.

Canon entry-level cameras are simply junk.

      • +2

Not junk, I find my 600d pretty good in terms of image quality. And the availability of EF lens is so awesome and so cheap, I like using my $70 AF 50mm f1.8. Functionality wise though, the Sony would be better, lens wise Canon all the way.

  • cannot add the $25 online voucher :(

  • Thanks OP bought the 1200d with 25$ online voucher and amex card offer and canon cash back and TRS claim in december.

  • Called my local JB and they said they couldn't match it because it's a price error, except I can order it online… and I did!

    • Hi. Did you order it online from JBHifi? Did you get it at the same price? They seem to have the body only at $799

      • I meant I ordered it from HN online, sorry.

  • Here's to hoping people get their cameras. I couldn't find any HN in Sydney that had stock and JB/BingLee refused a price match. I'm headed overseas next week so I would have preferred to pick up.

    • +2

North Ryde has them in store! Just checked.

      • Thanks, I don't think I will be able to get into that store tomorrow (today) but hopefully someone will manage

  • Got the A6000 from Rothwell QLD today - no hassles, awesomeness. Thanks OP

Only problem.. Can't play with it until Xmas day, and even then I'll have to ask :p

  • Even though last years model still stacks up well against the current cameras in the segment as far as I'm concerned, especially for $544 after Sony's rebate.
On that basis I've pulled the trigger on one.
Couldn't find one in stock at any HN store in Perth though so just ordered online instead.
    Thanks OP.

Purchased the kit via online yesterday and received a call this morning trying to verify some details and was told the order will be processed. Now I received an email saying they rejected the order. No reasons were given. Called their online team and it was useless as they say someone will call me again but still nothing.

    F**** HN wasting my time…useless!

    • Might be worth saving yoursel the trouble - telling them to sit on a ****

and ordering one from here for an extra ~60

      http://www.digitalcamerawarehouse.com.au/prod10795.htm

      Valid till monday morn

      • Still expecting an answer from their stupid online security team. Also they took money from my Amex card already so if to be refunded how long will the fund takes to be back on the account?

        • I ordered online first thing Saturday morning and my order was "flagged" for possible fraud and was put on hold. So I asked for order to be cancelled and I would just go in store. They told me it would take 5-7 business days for funds to be returned. HTH

  • Currently I've got NEX3N and Canon 450D. Tempted to get A6000 but which one should i sell? NEX3N or 450D?

    • +1

Both - and use the money from selling both to buy lenses for the A6000

  • Anyone have trouble with the redemption process? One of the fields asks to enter a serial number but it only allows me to type 7 characters. The serial number I have on my A6000 has 11 characters.

    • +1

Worked fine for me. It was the number under the middle bar code. My S/N was S01-XXXXXXX-I, with the Xs being what I entered into the cashback form.

      • Thanks! Worked a treat

  • how long does it take to get the cashback?
