Is there a way to check if Steam Keys are used?

with the Catch of the day Games special

me and few others ended up receiving redeemed keys and i wanted to know is there a way to check what keys are still valid without them being added to my account.

as i want to give some of the games to other people but not straight away.

    Unfortunately no. Only way to test them is to attempt to register them.

      that sucks, because you don't get a choice to not add it to the account

      the ones i have ever used are always automatically added
