I'm still seeking a budget-but-reasonable Windows laptop… And still vacillating..
I think I need brand new (not refurb), an i5, 4Gb RAM, 120 Gb SSD and less than 15", but I am willing to sacrifice full HD, touch screen and discrete graphics.
At this stage, I have found the ASUS X302LA which can be had, with some effort, for around $799, and a Lenovo E450 which can be had, very easily, for $772.66 (I don't know why, either).
If anyone has any thoughts or experience with these, then please share..
If you are looking at ThinkPad E450, definitely get the $55 Full HD option — that's a no brainer. E450/E550 will be in clearance soon to make ways for E460/E560 (Skylake, IPS screen). Personally I'll just got for the i5/4GB/500GB E450 and then source the extra RAM and SSD myself.
