Is Onix a Really Bad Brand ?

Is Onix a really bad brand? The reviews don't seem to be too good. I have seen that Coles has a 5-fin oil heater for just 7 dollars and wanted to buy it, but after reading the reviews I am concerned about safety…??
It would only be for emergencies anyway. Last year I broke my normal heater and had to freeze for a week while waiting for the new one to be delivered.
What do you think? Thanks!

  • I had an Onix heater of mine literally spark blue in front of my eyes once. Also tripped the safety switch. Wouldn't recommend if you're going to leave it for prolonged periods of time but for while you're sitting in a room, why not?

  • Thanks for the reply.
It would only be while I am sitting in my studio or before going to bed to warm up the room a bit…
I also have a DeLonghi (better), so in general I would use the DeLonghi, but when it dies I will have to order a new one and I don't want to freeze like last year.
I mean 7 dollars is really cheap!

    • Its $7, you will be fine. If the product was a threat to your life then it would have been recalled.

      • Yes, that's what I thought too. I think Coles takes these things seriously, as they recalled another heater some time ago (a Dome heater).
