    What is the normal price?

    • -8

      100% Fat!?

      • 50% fat, 50% sugar. The latter being the worst part.

        • +1

          Not this again.

    • +1

it's new and started at this price.

      • +8

        What's new? The flavour?

They've been selling waffle cones for a while now.

        • +3

theyve stuck a couple chocolate sticks in and now call it the mega choc waffle cone.

          mega choc= mega bargain bro.

        • @imtahir7:

Galaxy choc sticks it like 2 small twirl bars, it is choc cone with topping of choice eg caramel

  • It's on!

  • +8

Pretty sure when I bought one a couple a months ago, it was $2 back then too…

Why is this a bargain ?

    • -1

Sorry JV!.. they dont accept your paypal reader on this occasion

      • +14

Wasn't aware you can pay with the reader…

  • +1

My arteries were hurting as I watched that ad.

    • +1

You get my vote for the username.

      • I think your username has the best meaning though. Intriguing. I wish I had the time to binge through Fry and Laurie again. Miss those duffers.

  • +2

This was the introductory price and has been the same ever since. Actually a bargain for what you get.. Ice cream in a waffle cone with chocolate/caramel/strawberry sauce and 2 pieces of flakes (the chocolate) !!

  • -5

I think I will order 50c soft serves instead and bring my own twix and choc sauce :) Thanks for the post OP

    • +18

i agree, much better to carry your own ingredients
i also recommend asking for a plain cheeseburger without sauce, and then add your own lettuce, secret sauce, piece of bread, and meat patty. then you have a big mac for only $2!

      • +10

Me too, I order a large Coke, pour it out and fill it with my own bottle I bought for 2x the price.

        • +3

          Prefer to bring the SodaStream…

        • +8

The true ozbargainer orders a free water cup with ice then empties the water in the bathroom sink before filling it with coke you bought at Coles. Free McDonalds coke.

        • +3

I buy large frozen coke for $1 and let it melt and pour into a Coke bottle!

        • @Agret:

          empties water

          negged

you use the water, add caramel syrup and blow bubbles in the water with a straw to make it almost the same as coke

        • Just as an aside, but still on the topic of Coke, is it just me or does Maccas do the best mixture which is closest to bottled coke than other chains? Hungry Jacks usually sucks big time - namely not enough fizz.

        • +1

          @Munki:
It's up to the individual stores to keep their soda/syrup ratio in check, what a strange coincidence no stores are ever have theirs too strong.

It's really up to the owners at the end of the day, tight asses want to squeeze those extra cents.

    • Why go to all that effort? It would be more hassle and you would also lose money considering a Twix bar alone costs more.

      • +2

Don't think they were being serious….

  • +1

    These are incredibly good!

The chocolate 'sticks' are like chewier versions of flake.

I really like proper waffle cones too as opposed to the current soft serve cones.

Worth $2 and a good snack to share with the missus :)

  • +1

mcdonalds can pull me for my…screenshot

  • +1

Op were you watching Skyfall? Lol

  • Had one the other day, the chocolate on top is a Galaxy, whatever that is. Nice though.

    • the chocolate on top is a Galaxy, whatever that is.

      It's a Samsung product.

  • +4

I hate how the tip of the soft serve is always filled to BELOW the edge of the cone.
    Always looks severely underfilled…

  • It doesn't have to be on sale to be a bargain….

    • It's not really a bargain if there is no saving than the normal cost, this website isn't called oznornalprice.com.au

      • +1

I agree with Clear, the reverse of what Clear said would apply too.

Just because it's on sale doesn't make it a bargain.

Site is informative to make people aware of potential bargains, and these upvotes is the best of showing people think it's a bargain.

      • Go to cold rock and ask for the same thing. I bet you'll find it costs significantly more.

  • My wife purchased the kids a 30 cents cone from Maccas the other day. It was 50 cents!

    When did that happen?

    • +2

Yeah but shared between 4 kids it's only 12.5¢ each…

      • Used to be 7.5c

    • like 10 years ago?

  • +1

These cones are crapo, they always leak

  • Pretty crap for $2. I'd pay $1 at most

    • +8

I would agree to disagree. I believe that the Mega Choc Cone is of momentous value that cannot be surpassed. I would choose the $2 cone over an inferior one dollar hunk of junk any day. The quality of the hand crafted cone is second to none and the experience of having the ice cream melt in your mouth, fused with the warm chocolate fudge sauce is unreal. The fact they give you two twirls instead of one is indicative that this is of great value. Given the previous price of $1 for ONE flake, which is nowhere as tasty, you're turning a profit by buying this cone. Additionally, the chocolate cone is crisp and scrumptious. I can not express with words what value this cone is representative of. A must have for any Aussie during summer!

      15 Stars!

      • Hell of a sales tactic.

        • I declare that I am not associated or affiliated with McDonalds at all. I am just another person who is blessed with the unequaled taste and value of the $2 Mega Choc Waffle Cone!

        • @Milhouse Davids:

Sold me one anyway, grabbed one on way home…..disappinted with the ice cream level in the cone.

      • Haha, nice essay! Honestly good argument. You should be on their marketing campaign.
However it's all a matter of opinion.
Handcrafted cone is second to none - I beg to differ
Two twirls great value - yes, but think how little marginal cost is incurred by that
Turning a profit by buying this cone - again. really beg to differ.

        • The profits turned by the corporation is none of our business. We are still presented with outstanding value and a good product. Considering that many of us would agree that the $1 cone from last year was good value, the $2 cone is evidently of even more value. That is with respect to the price of other ice creams or similar goods in the current market.

        • I would like to add that I do respect your opinion, as you are entitled to feel however you want. However, I would like to talk some sense into you if you're willing to listen. :)

        • @Milhouse Davids: Righteo!

        • @markj:

          Everyone wins! :D

I have many thoughts about this new deal.
In an analysis of the value of this $2 Mega Choc Waffle Cone, it is unavoidable to not make mention to, and comparison to, the McDonalds Choc Waffle Cone, which was available earlier this year.

The Choc Waffle Cone's successor is slightly increased in size, regarding cone size (and therefore volume within), and the amount of soft-serve ice cream provided. This is immediately noticeable when holding the cone for the first time. I would even say that its mass rivals a McFlurry. Yes indeed. It is now worth declaring that the large mass of this cone is due to the new, trademark inclusion to this cone, the X-factor, the Pièce de résistance, if you will, is the addition of two (I repeat two) Cadbury Twirls. This is both this cone's greatest strength, and, as I will elaborate on, its fatal flaw.
The addition of Cadbury Twirls, my favourite Cadbury bar, if you were to ask, is the cone's strongest positive because it packs so great a punch to the meal. The flavour 'quad-fecta' of waffle, soft serve, hot fudge sauce (or other sauce if you are that type of character), and the Twirl chocolate rolls is so strong and impactful that this meal is remembered many hours after its consumption. Indeed, I can still taste the shadow of a Twirl on my tongue right now, over 48 hours since my last waffle-cone encounter.

However, I now must allude to the aforementioned fatal flaw of this dish. The greatest weakness of this dish, is the physical weakness of the waffle cone. The ill-fated overlook of the McDonalds product design team has been this: The waffle cone's thickness has not been increased or reinforced since the days of the smaller Choc Waffle Cone. Thus, the cone cannot contain its own power. When consumming the cone, I have many times found it to be, tragically, cracking around my hand. This has lead to the horrific event of hot fudge bloodshed, and a cascade of collapsing cream. Noone wants to experience this.

Indeed, I don't think my world-weary heart can sustain the intense pressure of consuming this ambitious dish. My advice to the young: Go forth and enjoy this dish with all its groundbreaking gravitas, just heed my warning of the ecstatic highs and tragic lows. My advice to the old: Don't put your heart on the line for this dish which has the power to break your spirit and change everything you thought you knew about the McDonalds soft-serve range.

    • Wow… just wow

      Very insightful review, 15/15.

  • Hmm… It's been out for a while. I'm actually surprised that many of you guys didn't know about it.

I don't think this is a bargain since I don't have option to take that flake / galaxy out and have $1 Choc waffle cone.

All they have done is adding 2 piece of Galaxy, which is similar to Flake and adding $1 on to it.

Considering that adding a piece of Flake was 50 cent extra, the price itself is not really bargain.

BTW, is the cone really handmade?

  • I got one of these last night out of curiosity. Although it was real nice, I ended up with more fudge on me than in my mouth.

    • +1

What sort of acts were you doing on the Waffle?

      • +1

        Giving it fellatio!

  • +2

Bought one earlier to check it out.
Complained at the drive thru about the lack of ice cream in the cone.
Of was way below the top level of the cone itself.
Disappointed in the ice creamlevel complained and was told that it's How it is.
Its normal, that's the amount that we get.
Any one else's cone been filled to at least the top or above?

    • Mine wasn't, but it's a good thing. The bloody thing was melting before it touched my hand.

    • Same thing happened to me as well

    • Everytime I’ve had one, it’s been the same too!
I posted about it earlier, about how crap and underfilled it looks.
I would rather a smaller cone than one that looks so underfilled.

Never seen cone that looks so pathetic, can’t believe mcdonalds specified that’s how they should be made! Someone should get a new job because they’ve never seen how a real soft serve.

  • +1

I just bought one of these bad boys. It was oh so delicious. Gotta hit the gym asap.

  • I have a hard time enjoying the taste of the ice cream with all the other crap to be honest
