33% off Earasers (Earplugs for Musicians / Concerts) - $50 USD (~$70 AUD) + Int'l Shipping

40
erase33

The 33% off discount code applies to everything in their store!

I've personally only tried their Musician Earplugs from Earasers and have found them to be far better than the rest! They're earplugs for people who want to reduce noise distortion, not block out sound - similar to those of a professional custom molded one, but at an affordable price.

I've personally tried a few cheap ones and the experience doesn't really compare, most of the time you end up wanting to take out the earplugs because you really can't hear anything anymore (pretty much just muffles out everything). There are plenty of reviews out there so just do a quick google!

Downside is that they're from the US, so that AUD + international shipping will get you. Hopefully the 33% off can offset that. Remember, the dates for the deal are in US timezone.

Enjoy!

Im sorry but having a brief look and they charge $49 USD for a pair of sleeping earplugs, and youre telling me shipping costs internationally?

I wouldnt pay $50 bucks for a pair of earplugs, what the hell man

    would anyone else here?

I got some custom molded plugs for 300, best investment as they last for years and give you all the clarity at a lower decibel level.

I also have some generic musicians plugs from headphones.com.au as a backup which I have had for about 7 years now. I think they cost be about $50.

      • im not the kind of musician that plays loud music at gigs, but i had a look to see because i was interested in getting earplugs to help me sleep at night in share accommodation situations. For my application sounds quite steep. thanks for sharing

        • I don't think these would be suitable for your application anyway. They're for lowering all frequencies equally, so whatever you're listening to sounds similar, just quieter. Normal earplugs will muffle the sound as they block higher frequencies better than lower frequencies.

For sleeping, you'd probably want it to be as quiet as possible, so something that blocks as much as possible would be preferred, e.g. foam earplugs or custom molded earplugs.

        • As eug said, cheap foam earplugs do the trick and that's what I use for sleeping when needed. Nothing else will do any better than that besides sleeping tablets.

        • @eug: they apparently sell sleeping earplugs for 49 usd. I checked their site

        • @eug: they apparently sell sleeping earplugs for 49 usd. I checked their site

    • I can only vouch for their Musician earplugs which compared to the cheap $1 foam ones, you can actually enjoy a concert with.

As per Mechz comment, these are a cheaper substitute than your professional custom molded earplugs that still gives you clarity of sound, but less harsh on your ears.

They're also quite comfortable and can't be easily seen!

    • They're noise attenuation plugs - designed to reduce volume without changing the way stuff sounds (ie. for musicians etc).

Personally I use them while i'm building.. Drops the volume of power tools enough, but I can still talk to people without having to take them out. Well worth the money in my opinion.

  • Hey Op, might want to put some pricing in there.

    • Edited now, cheers!

  • Actually what I'd like is the best possible pair of earplugs which shut out ALL god damned noise.
Mr idiot leafblower for my apt block ruins Mondays from about 10am till 11.
Anyone know if there's much difference from a $3 pair from the chemist and anything else?

(This idiot is so loud I have trouble hearing a podcast on my apple ibud things, WITH a pair of these over my head too http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Target-Shooting-Ear-Muff-Pistol-R… )
That's inside my apt too… not downstairs where this gumby is thrashing.

    • have you ever tried active noise cancelling headphones?

      • I was just about to suggest the same thing.. !

      • For use in airplanes, I find that the combination of foam earplugs with ANC headphones provides the best isolation. Foam earplugs work great for mids and highs, but aren't as effective on the lows. ANC headphones work really well with the lows but not so much the mids and highs. It sounds like I'm sitting at home with a quiet fan running.

I also have a pair of custom molded earplugs but I find the foam ones block more noise. They're just not as comfortable.

A leaf blower would have higher frequencies than an airplane, so I don't think ANC headphones would make a large difference. Maybe try foam earplugs under your earmuffs, hamwhisperer?

Search ebay for 'howard leight sampler' and try the different kinds to see which gives you the best balance of comfort and noise reduction. Practice inserting them correctly. Once you decide which you prefer, you can buy in bulk far cheaper than buying single packs from the chemist.

      • agree with this. they're the best I've tried, so much so that I bought a box of them to have them for when I fly and just want to block out noise but not use NC headphones

I'm in the industry, so a few insights:

    1. Musician earplugs - as Mechz accurately said: they last for years and give you all the clarity at a lower decibel level.
Custom moulded one normally cost $300/pair, some company (I worked at) do $169/pair, same manufacture, same quality
off the shelve ones vary a lot, as long as it fits well, it should do ok

    2. Sleeping plugs and noise reduction ones are pretty much the same - they all have ~25dB attenuation, you still will be hearing all the loud noise but at much lower level.
Custom moulded one normally cost $90/pair
      foam ones whatever

    3. Special moulded monitors, some with active noise reduction are much more expensive, if you need them for gig or racing, then you'll know what you're talking about

    • Don't suppose you know who could make me some custom IEM's with ANC?

  • I tried entering the code and its not working. The standard Musicians earplugs are already $50 US, has the 33% already been taken off?

The US are a day behind, it's not the 16th Nov over there yet!

Do you think these would help you have a conversation in a nightclub? Being able to hear what that hot girl was saying to me (rather than just nodding my head) might just be worth that much.

    • Try this trick next time you're at a nightclub - using a finger, press and hold against your ear (or theirs) so that it's covered, then say something next to the covered ear. You'll find it blocks out all the music, but not the words they're saying!

      • So press against the hole? Ok cool I'll try it next time.
        Thanks

As a music player and lover with mild, occasional tinnitus, this is all good info, cheers to OP and all commenters!

  • Any thoughts on how these compare to Ety plugs? I have found them to be far better than the foam, but there's always room for improvement.

I bought them here - in Australia and cheaper than the deal too.

    • Good find!! This would have saved me a few bucks, haha. Free delivery tops off the icing on the cake.

  • Checked out musicians earplugs at Amazon and as usual there are a lot of alternatives and a raging debate over which is best- plenty of contradictory advice.

These ones have a lot higher NRR.
