Best Laptop for Short Term Use?

Hi Ozbargainers,

I'm looking to purchase a laptop but I will only be needing it for 1-2 months. I want to be able to resell it once I'm done and hopefully lose no more than $100 (ideally no loss). Just wondering whether it would be better to buy a $250 laptop and try to resell at minimum loss or look out for a good sale on something around the $400-$500 mark and try and get my money back once I'm done?

I should mention it will only be needed for web browsing and note taking.

Thanks guys.

  • Should also mention that I saw this laptop, https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/laptops/lenovo/l…, and was wondering if this would be a good candidate?

    • Thank you! Something around that price would be perfect as I can't lose much at all. I appreciate it!

  • As Charlie says, hit up Gumtree and eBay. They'll have your lowest cost solutions. Long shot, but you could also try your luck on GraysOnline, but there are generally some additional charges post-auction that come over the top of your intended purchase price.

    • I'll definitely check that out, cheers!

  • I could sell you a HP Probook 6550b with intel i5, Windows 7 / Office 2010 - Complete refurb - Ex Corporate laptops used for IT training.

PM me if interested, $180 reimaged with Win7, Office 2010, 4GB Ram, 320GB HD

I sell many of these to schools and colleges.

  • How about Kogan Atlas 14?
