Trying to mirror my PC to my TV to watch the WWE network- any ideas?

I have
a. A panasonic viera tv
b. samsung blu ray player (BD E5900)
c. A PC running windows 8
d. An ipad

My quest is watching the WWE network on my tv without buying any more equipment (in the spirit of ozbargain). (If I fail I'll end up with the cheapest option ie a chromecast :) or the more expensive roku/ apple tv/ lightning to hdmi options)

a. My viera does not have the wwe network app

b the blu ray player has the app, but it does not load, as whe app is not supported

It does have an app called tv cast which talks to my ipad. No problems watching youtube videos via the ipad(browser based) but cannot watch the wwe network as it cannot be watched on the browser on the ipad, as it is app based.

c. There is no tv cast browser addon for pc sadly

Does any one know of any way that I can watch the wwe network on my existing tv using my existing equipment without buying anything more.

edit# 1
PC does not have an HDMI port and lives in another room. Is connected to the same router as the tv, blu ray player and ipad.

I think buying a chromecast is the cheapest option, but my ozbargain brain wants me to find a way that is cheaper, or free :)

  • If your PC has an HDMI port and you have a spare HDMI cable, my suggestion would be to plug your TV into your PC and mirror the screen.

    • sadly my aldi medion pc does not have an HDMI port

      • Turns out I was wrong
On the weekend I discovered that my aldi PC does have HDMI ports
It was not close to the USB ports but hidden away
Now for a 10m HDMI cable
The cheapest I've found is $24 including delivery
Less than a chrome cast :)

  • if you can access the wwe network through a internet browser on your pc, maybe try using the inbuilt web browser on the tv.

    • does not play videos in the inbuilt browser either in the viera or the blu ray player

  • if can play on browser can try chrome and use chromecast
if app, get a android phone, and cast the screen on chromecast
or get a hdmi, micro usb and connect that way

    • to use chromecast I would have to buy a chromecast
dont want to buy anything; looking for a way to do this wirelessly and my existing equipment
if there is no way then I will have to buy a chromecast

  • Does the tv have screen mirroring?

    • Sadly no it is the P50 ST 50 model which I bought just before the London Olympics. I'm guessing screen mirroring came with newer models?

  • Without spending money the only way I can see is to physically attach the pc to the TV using VGA .

    Spending money opens up options.
Videocard with HDMI out seems like a simple option.
Chromecast seems to be the easiest option. Although Chromecasts dont work well with VPN's.
Android TV devices such as the Nexus player cost a bit more but are much more versatile. They do screen mirroring (casting) as well as run apps natively. Also work well with VPN's.

Miracast dongles are also a cheap option, Cheap android media players, long ass cables, talented friends in costumes acting out the action. All good options.

  • Wireless HDMI???

  • HDMI to dvi adaptor - $5. Move the computer to the TV, and use it as a monitor.

This will be video only, you'll need to connect an audio cable too.

It depends what outputs your PC has, and inputs your TV/bd player has.

You could buy NETGEAR PTV3000 for $64, but Chromecast would be better value.

  • sigh looks like chromecast it will be
    hate parting with $$

  • dont you have a gaming console? xbox360, ps3, ps4 or xbone? they all have apps for WWE

    • The only gaming console I've ever owned is Nintendo's game and watch, Parachute. Now I can go hide under my ancient rock :)
