2 weeks after release, I had to trade in GTA 5, as my Xbox decided it didn't want to Xbox anymore.
They offered me $25, after I had just paid $69 for it. Sold it for $55 on eBay.

Depends what state you live in. I forgot what state but the law there is you cannot get money, only store credit.
But usually you can get either. If you choose cash, you get 20% less
try going to CEX instead they give crap trade in prices but at least you get money.
In order for them to pay you cash they would need to have a second hand dealers licence and be governed by all the regulations this licence requires which is a PIA for most retailers. Except for pawn shops as they are a different business model.
I traded in Call of Duty Advanced Modern Warfare at JB Hi Fi last weekend for $25 which i bought for $59 a year ago so I thought that was pretty good. It was store credit and used it to buy Assassins Creed Syndicate. I would suggest to go to JB rather than EB
Whatever you have, you're better off putting on Gumtree or even Ebay if you want to get anything for it.
