Butcher's Knife for Cutting and Trimming Meat into Steaks

Hey guys,

I'm looking to buy a butcher's knife to cut and trim meat (like the ones you buy from costco that are vacuum sealed) into steaks. Anyone have any recommendations?
A quick search on Amazon and this one came up: http://www.amazon.com/Victorinox-Cutlery-12-Inch-Straight-Bu…

Looks pretty promising but not sure if its recommended.

Any input is appreciated.

Cheers.

When ever I go to asia I see the chef cut meat using one of these

Seems to work for everything, chop meat, veggies, noodles, smashed garlic. Just like a multi purpose tool.

    • check your soup for finger tips!

  • The butchers at my work use the same knife you posted alongside a smaller Victorinox boning knife similar to these. The boning knife is good for smaller jobs as you can get a closer cut, but it would ultimately depend on how big the lump of meat is to begin with
