Is $1099 a Good Price for MacBook Air 11"?

I'm looking to get a Macbook Air 11" some time in this month and I found one for $1099. It's an early 2014 model with a 128GB and it's brand new.

I'm thinking no, but considering the recent price bump from Apple, I'm not sure if I can find a better deal within this month. Thoughts?

  • Is it really necessary at this point in time?

New model refresh should be in the early new year.

And you could have gotten a 13" 2015 model for close to that price recently…

I would wait until Black Friday or even Boxing Day

    • Not quite sure if I'm willing to wait until next year but I'm kinda hoping the price will drop in December…

Well, the unit's sold out anyway so it's back to checking OzBargain for bargains…

  • As unorthodox said a refresh is coming soon, also what do you intend using the MacBook for? The 11inch screen version is very portable and quite powerful but the update will most probably not happen with the MacBook Air 11 inch as Apple seem to be replacing it with the newer 12" MacBook.

    • I actually like the retina on the 12" and how light it is but I don't really like the keyboard. The reason why I'm thinking of getting the MacBook air is because I'll be typing a lot. I've been using an iPad + wireless keyboard configuration but after an hour or two my wrists will start cramping.

Update: Well, that took the decision right out of my hands, the air is sold out. Lol!

  • Don't get it.
Dell have just discounted their Inspiron 15" and 13".

If I was you, I would get the Dell Inspiron 15 7000 for $1199.
